Virtually the first link I saw on searching. Odds on someone will have it cheaper still.

Ideal world do NOWT cheap, and even if they did, the poor customer service and misdescription of goods is well known (eg. see the Advertising Standards Authority site):-(

I had a look around their site, talked to a very knowledgeable salesman and ended up buying what looks like a very nice Singer for £199.

Oh well. It's time I learnt how to make curtains (and how to operate a sewing machine!). (Can a man actually do that, do you think?).

I don't see why not... I used my ex-wife's (very basic machine) a few times, but obviously enough, not for anything fancy, just "functional" stuff. Never did any more because soon after a good friend of mine married a professional alteration machinist, so it was a doddle to get here to do stuff, although now live 200 miles away, so lost that benefit!

Savile Row tailors are mainly men too!
