Ah the inevitable Christmas price wars have started, I will wait a couple of weeks until it hits the £20 mark me thinks!

Excellent... the PS3 price fall cannot be far behind... and the free downloadable content on the PS3 for an initial 2 week period (until 19 November 2009) is going to help persuade me... but I've not found anybody with a good word to say about the online multiplayer experience (on either console).

[EDIT]: PS3 version is the same price: £24.99.

Thanks.

GamePlay (GAME's parent site) is undercutting by a £1...

Brutal Legend (360/PS3) - £23.99 + Quidco

All we need now is for GameStation is to knock another quid off...

I see no reason we can't just download the extra content now to the PS3's hard drive? You don't to have the game to do that - only to use it, which you can do later when the game is cheaper.

The content isn't available until tomorrow... but yes, in theory, that is true.

If the content is downloaded & then requires manual installation then there should be no reason not to download when you can & install once the main game data is resident in your Blu-ray drive (or installed to your hard drive).

However, if the download installs automatically now, then you may find that the extra content is 'over-written' if you need to install the game upon purchase.

That said, you can always return to the PlayStation Store & view your "Download List" & re-download again (without incurring any additional cost if applicable at that time from the main 'Store listing).

(I will be downloading when the new content is available too; prior to owning the physical game title).

£39.99 instore bud!

From what I've heard, this game starts out like a hack n slash, and then turns into an RTS game half way through? Is that true?
#11
A really awkward RTS that you pretty much have to help out with the hack n slash still. By far the best part of the game is the story.

I did this with batman, fearing that it wouldn't remain free. Worked just fine.

I think GAME are raising their game a bit, which is good to see. I actually bought a game from them the other day.

One thing that gets my goat though, is that they won't price match their own website in store, which in some cases will lose them the sale alltogether.

The demo was fun, but yeah apparently the game goes RTS later. It still sounds liek fun for me but I'm looking to pay around £20 so I'll wait (but download the stuff on PSN tomorrow).

Sort of....... There are RTS sections of the game that are effectively the boss battles at the end of particular sections. They aren't hard (trust me I'm not an RTS fan at all and had little idea what was happening) and they're over pretty quickly. Multiplayer is completely based on these section though and was a totally different affair when I played it as I got hammered. Most of the game is the free-roaming hack and slash and driving bits and as someone said earlier - the story makes it.

Bargain at this price I'd say.

As much as I want to support Double Fine, this will be £15 before xmas.
Good deal for those who cannot wait though.

Different company (similar to the HMV setup) so they are actually unrelated profit / stock wise. Only link is the rewards points and the delivery to GAME stores (which is *actually* a delivery - they dont (and wont) take stock from the store).

Cheesed me off as I pre-ordered the MW2 console, yet Ive missed out on Quidco :( however hoping that the stores kick out some promo items for the midnight launch!

I was in two GAME Stores yesterday evening (in the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent).

One Store had six or seven of the PS3 version on the shelves for £29.99.
The other had more, but some were marked at £29.99 & just one had been reduced to £24.99.

As this is on GAME's web site in the "Deals of the Week" section maybe they were mid-pricing when I saw the stock on the shelves.

A few years ago the Game.net domain name wasn't even owned by The GAME Stores Group & the rotters who were "cyber squatting" were trading on the name of the established organisation & using the same Corporate branding colours for presentation of the site.

Fortunately that situation was rectified in GAME's favour but, yes, the two entities now operate independently with regards stock despatches. You can return stock bought online to the high street stores though.

Dio's not in this, his performance was taken out and replaced by another actor.

Yup... same price as another GAME Store (Cheapside, London) that I have just been in.

The one I saw for £24.99 in-store earlier this week must have either been a pre-owned item or somebody mis-priced it. However, pre-owned copies in the London store were marked £37.99!

I downloaded the free extra maps yesterday. Just as well they are free, as they are a total con otherwise. Only 100k or so, so all the download does is unlock what's already on the disc :x

Last week's "Deal of the Week" has finished.

Price back up to £37.99.

Marked as 'Expired'.

(Still available at GameStation for £22.99... be quick!)
