BSM Driving Lessons 5 for £75.00

BSM are currently doing an offer of 5 1-hour driving lessons for £75, which I think is good. I've been meaning to start driving for a couple of years so this might be a good time to start!

I posted this deal yesterday and there was some confusion as to whether it is a genuine, official offer or not. I now see it is posted on the official BSM website, which confirms its authenticity for me.

Terms and conditions.

Lesson is defined as 1 hours in-car tuition.
Offer cannot be used by anyone who is currently taking lessons with a BSM Instructor.
This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Offer is subject to availability.
Full payment must be made at time of booking lessons.
Lessons must be redeemed within 3 months of booking/payment.
No refunds will be made in the case of non-use.
Subsequent lesson prices may vary.
Only valid in the UK, excluding Northern Ireland.
BSM reserves the right to vary the terms of this offer and/or withdraw the offer at any time.

This is because it costs more to insure cars in Northern Ireland - This is down to more people driving with Irish driving licences

Can you book more than 5? For example could I buy say 20 lessons for £300 (£75 x 4) ? Thanks.
#10
I very much doubt it, but you could phone and ask!
#11
I think this forces them to drive with Irish License

Just called and booked mine :)

No extra charge for an automatic car and no extra charge for weekend appointments.

He did try to upsell me which I didn't do. Apparently their lessons are 2 hours long, so he wanted to 'upgrade' me to 6 lessons for £96. I said that was too much more, and asked what the full price of lessons is. Apparently it's £30.50 in my area  So this deal is half off. HOT HOT HOT :) Thanks OP

ETA - They booked my sessions on the phone right then and there too. I have 2 2-hour sessions and 1 1-hour session.

Where are they based please matey

I've learnt quite recelently and this look expensive! I got my first 5 hours for £50 then it was about £16.50 per hour afterwards.

Not really heard to many good things about BSM either - I'd recomend looking local.

Booked - thanks.

I also came across Local http://www.localdrivingschool.co.uk/
Don't know anything about them, but website currently offering 4 lessons at £5.99 each.
Not in London, unfortunately.

I always used to have my lessons start at work and finish at home. That was i used to save about £4 on travel!

Just passed my test with BSM and they were amazing! Was always able to book lessons and they always tried to fit me in around work.

I was with a local instructor first and he was rubbish with booking lessons. Just suppose it depends who your instructor is and that, but I would recommend BSM.

My local instructor charged the same as BSM so you obviously got an amazing deal on your lessons. (by "recently" do you mean 3 years ago? ;-) With the price of petrol I doubt you would find lessons that cheap!

I reckon with driving lessons that if you pay peanuts then you get monkeys!

You're much better off in the long run asking around for a local recommendation for an independent driving instructor who is good enough that s/he doesn't have to offer introductory gimmicks which end up costing more overall as you need more lessons and/or repeated tests. I heard from a driving instructor friend that a lot of the 'school' driving instructors aren't even fully qualified yet when start teaching and many (like her) don't pass within the required number of tries and have to stop teaching!

Obviously there will be some exceptions but that is my 2p worth.

In respose to the traffic deal. there in my local Doncaster free press. http://www.trafficmag.co.uk/ Tel: 0800 731 5313

5Hours for £50 please more info i may like to get this for two or thre of my sons to give them a head start in learning to drive.

Thank you for your assistance
#27
Driving Instructors pay company's to advertise for them such as the one i posted about earlier. The Advertising people set the offers not the instructors. Thats why independent instructors Advertisments are smaller.
#28
in my opinion bsm are BAD. i know someone who had 6 lessons and ONLY LEARNT TO DO STOP, START AND LEFT TURNS! sorry to be so harsh on this, but frankly, this was a rip off for the person I am referring to
#29
I've had lessons locally that were about £21 an hour, so much cheaper than the full price BSM ones.

In any company, small or large, you'll have good and bad instructors. I'm American and have been driving there for yonks, but need to get my UK license so I'm sure BSM will suit me fine. The local instructor I was with before was trying to teach me how to drive a manual but I'm too set in my ways. He came recommended after talking to people locally, and while he was an okay teacher, he drove me NUTS with constant singing and humming to himself.

I think for this price you can't really go wrong. If you have your first lesson be the hour long one and you don't like the instructor, you can call up and rebook with a different teacher - that's the good thing about using a big company.

Just my 2 cents worth :)

just checking ...... i can do this offer ? then go on with another (cheaper) school after ?
just tell the new school i have learnt xxx with bsm ??
#31
Was just about to start with somebody else, so this will save me at least £40, Thanks
#32
wasn't this suppsoed to be scam? because the website is registered to a person and not BSM?
#33
Will I be able to use this BSM deal?

I have just booked 4 hours of lessons with tesco clubcard vouchers which should finish next week.

Cheers

I am a driving Instructor and the amount of times I have heard quotes like this is way more than I care to remember. Everybody learns at a different pace, some people have excellent co-ordination skills and can get passed the first few lessons without a hitch, others have absolutely no co-ordination skills whatsoever and take weeks (yes weeks) to start left and right turns etc. because they cannot get the hang of steering.

Please don't generalise about driving schools/Instructors.

BTW, I don't work for BSM :)
#35
cheap. london is £30 an hour.

it seemed so but this is now on the bsm website so is clear that its a true deal
#37
yesh this is great cept they'll insist on you having about 40 lessons before they deem you 'ready' for a test.. go independent imho
#38
You probably already know but you can save up your tesco clubcard vouchers £48.36 worth buys you 4 hours of lessons - I think that is a good deal too!
#39
Do you need a provisional driving license to be able to use this?

Great stuff, thank you,
