Which? Magazine Review:

The BT 100 baby monitor has an incredibly long range of 280m outdoors, and benefits from DECT technology, which gives crisp sound quality over the airways.

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication) also ensures conversations shouldn't be accidentally overheard as the signal is encrypted.
The parent unit comes with rechargeable batteries that last 10 hours between charges - disposables last 16 hours. The baby unit can use mains power or four AA alkaline batteries, which we found last a decent 20 hours before they need replacing. Using rechargeable batteries will be cheaper over time, but expensive disposables do last longer.

Useful features include sound-sensitive lights, a nightlight, and a pager facility. The unit has a talkback feature, so you can use it like a walkie-talkie to soothe your baby without being in the room. It also has three recorded lullabies, which can be activated to try to gently soothe your baby.

Pros: Long range, crisp sound quality
Cons: The baby unit doesn't come with rechargeable batteries

I have this monitor and its excellent. But if you buy it make sure you get some decent rechargeable batteries for it as the ones they supply don't hold charge for very long.
Other than that its worth every penny!!!

Hot Hot Hot:)

I had one of these briefly.

The batteries dies in our Tomy Platinum Walkabout, bought this as a 'stand-in' from Argos while new batteries arrived.

Was gutted I had to take it back but couldn't justify the £60+ highstreet price.

This is a bargain and I'll be getting this ready for our next child - many thanks OP.

These are much much better than the over priced Tomy Walkabout, get this instead.

Well I suppose you would have some knowledge of someone breaking in and snatching your kid or if the house were burning down (kids caughing ;-) )

Might just make it in time hey?

Had the previous version to this and it has been excellent. But do buy some decent batteries such as nimh 2300mah and it will last for ages off charge.

Have to agree with the other comments, we have one and it's a good monitor. However if your baby is young then I would buy a monitor with a combined temperature gauge.
