The BT Aviator 10M combines both FM and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio stations. Digital radio listeners can enjoy up to 3 times as many stations as FM listeners with a wider range of programming. This allows you to listen to an increased number of radio stations in-near CD sound quality. With digital radio there is no interference such as hissing or crackling such as you may find on normal analogue radios. The BT Aviator 10M also has an auto scan function which ensures all those extra digital radio stations are easily found with just the touch of a button.

The BT Aviator 10M offers a unique MP3 function. MP3s can be played on the BT Aviator 10M via a SD or MMC Card (playback function).

The BT Aviator 10M has a 10 minute record and playback facility. The 10 mins record time records to internal memory and allows you to recall any broadcast information you may want to listen to again (maybe you missed the name of the track just been played or missed the weather report in the last news bulletin - now you can replay the moment). This allows you to set, record and replay the last 10 minutes of a broadcast, ensuring you never miss out on a favorite tune or bulletin.

The BT Aviator 10M has a large display screen which allows you to view useful information about the station you are listening to. Including its name, artist and song information and other broadcasting information.

The BT Aviator 10M also features an alarm clock and is both mains and battery operated.

The BT Aviator 10M incorporates all the functions of DAB technology complemented with innovative design and style and excellent stereo sound quality.

although it says the offer is limited to one use it lets you put as many as you want in the basket and takes 30 quid off each

This is great! I've got a clock radio that my parents bought me in around 1982. It's now relegated to just telling the time. It doesn't even have FM radio on it!! (Got LW though :p )

This will replace my machine and it's the same kind of shape: an upright device rather than a laying-down device, which most clock radios seem to be and take up all the space on the bedside table.

Great deal!

Hi macpaul, welcome to the forums. Thanks for posting the deal jase :)

Would be great to know if this came with an aerial, I played around with dab ages ago and it was impressive but I had a 2 foot aerial which picked up all the 4dozen+ stations.

If this had a massive aerial + could record to a sd stick and/or removable storage I'd order one asap I think :)
#6
looks like i missed the boat... its now showing for £59.99
#7
Have you used it with the discount code sstiixx?? That's how to get it cheaper... deal last until midnight.

Question: Is their an aerial? - Steve, Basingstoke

The picture shows no aerial and none of the reviews mention one. Does it have a built-in aerial, or an external, telescopic one?

Thank you for your query, the BT Aviator has a built-in internal aerial.

Ta Jase, experience tells me I'd need a external one though.
#17
The reviews dont seem bad on the reception but as you say you will know from experience what works for you, I have a dab cube that I bought from comet earlier in the year and that has a 2 foot ariel as well and with the ariel fully down I cant pick up all dab stations but I only need to have the smallest amount of ariel revealed to pick up all dab stations.

Funnily enough it was you emma that posted that offer :santa:

Just so you know the recording is internal not to SD card. When replaying the recording you can channel it out via the aux out to a recordable device.

I have just checked out the reviews for this product and it ain't good

Schizophrenic performance; tinny sound quality

There's nothing more sickening than a fat radio, and the Aviator is one lardy monster

I was going to get this until I read the reviews.
Even at the price it isn't value for money if it doesn't do the business.

I too almost bought it. The biggest problem for me is it's size: 23 cm x 10 cm x 22 cm. Just a bit too big for me (was looking for a radio for the kitchen).

Great price though (was £130 18 months ago).
#23
Thanks for that.

I just jumped in and bought it without looking at any reviews :whistling:

Still as the price is comparable to Alba's, Bush's etc I should be happy enough.

Thanks again to the original poster :santa:
#24
I think if you consider the price of the radio when the reviews were done then will seem more critical than on an item that is £29.99 as lordrobs says at this price its compariable with the cheaper brands on the market.
#25
All Gone now!
#26
...I bought one as a pressie then saw the negative reviews and comments - but look further and its rated as better elsewhere. Plus it wont be me listening to it ;-) :whistling:

I know it's a bit late seeing as they've all gone but it's worth mentioning that with DAB you should only require a 31cm aerial, extending it beyond this won't help and could actually degrade the signal due to interference:

while avforums can be good, i'll never take their word as gospel, my psion wavefinder was over 31cm in total and didn't degrade ;)

Not such a hot deal so not getting a new thread from me:

Just thought I would let you know that I have a very similar DAB radio to this from Currys called an I-Tech DAB One DAB Radio and it is awesome. Exactly the same functionality (ie permanent 10min recording, SD card MP3 player, AUX out, sleep etc;) but better styling. It's not on a special price so I havent started a new thread but even for the RRP of £44.99 it is awesome value.

Currys' stuff have stupid links so just search for product 236052

Any questions just ask.

Here'sthe list. But BT seem to have removed all the piccys from their site from the links we had.
#32
BT changed their links a few days after the origonal post was done as far as I can recall the dab radio is not one of the offers repeated again during the advent calendar deal but I have noticed when the daily offer sells out they have started offering one of the previous offers in its place so it may come back around again if they have stock.
