Sounds great, but the link doesn't take you to any deal for £9.99... are you sure?

Didn't vote since this is an OK deal for those in areas where competition is limited (although I couldn't see it on BT's site for the stated price?). Just posting to let people know that this "unlimited" package actually has a fairly low monthly limit of 100GB after which usage is heavily throttled.

No link to deal or cannot see on website, voted cold for me

You would be hard pushed to use 100gb regularly a month unless your using it as an alternative to a private circuit or constantly downloading movies or playing online games 24/7

In addition almost every other sp has a fair usage policy, not just BT.

No way is this package available at £9.99 unless it was a one off resign offer or a reseller pretending to be BT because they buy the service from big BT.

"100gb" so unlimited then for most people.

Best I can find on their site for broadband option 3 is £25.60 per month

I see no reason to let providers get away with this nonsense parlance. If there's a clearly defined limit beyond what you can get down the line at the provided speed, the package is by definition not unlimited.

Certainly 100GB is sufficient for many people, but only a broadband provider or an idiot would claim it constituted unlimited. There are plenty of legitimate uses which could exceed this in a month, such as if you use the internet as a TV replacement and watch HD streams on iPlayer for 2-3 hours a night, so it's only fair to clearly warn people so they can make an informed decision.

actually this is correct.i was already with bt but at renewal,i rang up and they offered me unlimited opt 3 at £9.99. on your telephone bill it will show more but you get the difference recredited. if you phone them up you will get this offer.

Unlimited means unlimited..............100GB = Limited to 100GB.

Bit like sticking £10 of petrol in the car and BP telling you it gives you 'unlimited' mileage.

100GB fair use policy if on ADSL (up to 8MBPS)
300GB fair use policy if on ADSL2+ (up to 20MBPS)or BT Infiinty (fibre up to 40MBPS)

Once you hit your limit your broadband speed will be capped at 1MBPS at peak times, you wont be cut off or charged extra.

Just thought i'd clear that up for you lot.

Also, im assuming thisis a retention deal, which is good to know as im out of contract and thought the best retention deal for option 3 was £15.99

Available to new customers too. I got option 3 and eve/weekend calls for £10 a month when I called to arrange moving house and said I wanted broadband too if there was a good deal to be had. It also means that the £130 connection fee is waived too.

Have had BT broadband option 3 for the last 8 months or so, only time I ever had an e-mail from them about going over 80GB etc etc was on month 1 and it said that I "may" be capped to 1Mb/s... so during the next few weeks I put it to the test and still kept going strong to see if I did get throttled, and noticed no difference whatsoever, used speed testers etc too, was still getting between 4 and 7 Mb/s at all times of the day. I think by the end of that month I'd gone over 300GB, and yes it was all legal before anyone asks.

I've been capped once when i had the 100GB limit. Don't go anywhere near the limit now its 300GB for me.

please stop wasting our valuable time

Don't worry about the 100 gig limit, BT throttle well before then
#17

I only get 4mb at off peak and i average 700k-1mb peak times. Makes me cry

I pay £19.99 a month for "unlimited", which translates as reduced speeds at peak times if I exceed 50GB in any rolling 30 day period. If this deal was legit, I be getting twice as much data for half the price, so would be fantastic for me - people suggesting 100GB is restrictive should try living in Norfolk! However, as previously stated this "deal" doesn't appear to actually exist, sadly.
#21
Sorry, I posted this after a few glasses of wine last night and didn't sort the link out or any of that!! However the deal DOES exist! I phoned up to arrange a house move and whilst on the phone she offered me this (as a previous poster said, so not sure why skipster saying the deal doesn't exist!!) - I have no idea whether it's for new customers / whether it's on the website or not but it does exist because I have it!!! They've called it their 'winter deal' (or winter something, at least!).

After signing up for it, both my sisters and my father rang up as all with BT and all got moved onto option 3 at 9.99 a month.
#22
After 3 months check to see if they charge you full again.
#23
lol @ 100gb/300gb caps

Ive hammered BEthere boradband and done 3TB in a month down

No letters / emails / phone calls

I regurlarly hit 1tb per month in a slow month.

Best internet by far and they will pricematch most unlimited deals out there.

Plus if another user refers them i think you get 1-3 motnhs free
#24
No, it's not a 3 month only deal (obviously I clarified that!). It's 9.99 forever. Honestly wish i'd never posted now! I phoned up to change my address - I got offered a much better deal - I thought I'd share it! Does everyone get hammered like this - am I being over sensitive? i don't even understand the debate about the gb's!

It's not going to be available for many people and certainly was not available for my sister when she signed up 2 days ago to option 2, best winter deal she could get was reduced to £7.99 for 3 months.

You've hit lucky. Not a deal therefore to many on here. I only mentioned to check again in 3 months as BT are known liars and will tell(gullible people mainly) anything to sign up / extend etc.

one thing for sure it will not be £9.99 forever.
