BT Digital Baby Monitor - £24.99 @ Amazon - (1/2 price) !

FREE supersaver delivery.

Reviews : The Baby Monitor is BT's first entry into this market. Digital technology means crystal-clear sound quality and no interference. A range of up to 300 metres (in ideal conditions) and an Intercom feature means that a constant link is maintained between parent and baby.

What are the power sources? Rechargeable?

"baby unit" is on mains but can be powered with standard batteries if necessary (I think AA). "parent unit" is rechargeable. last for 4-6 hours and give clear warning when battery goes weaker

We've got this (but the Plus version which plays tunes and has a temperature guage) and it has been fantastic. We've used it every night for 2.5 years and have never had any problems or interference. We have even stayed at friend's houses who have the same monitor and we both still receive our signal clearly. Would definitely recommend.

the "plus" version is 41 pounds odd delivered at Amazon which is also a really good price (usually 60-70)

Ohh I wonder where I have seen this before?
Makes me laugh that the ratings can be so different!

Aye, we have the Plus version and it is good. I broke the belt clip off in no time at all, but on the whole I think it's worth shelling out the extra money for. As dr.met.ty said, that is a great price from Amazon.

Don't let it - I've had one for ages and it's very very good. Excellent build quality too. highly recommended!

Borrowed one from a friend and have never had a problem. Good price.

I have the Plus one too & it's great!

I would definitely recommend it

ditto the above. good range and great quality/volume.

I also have the Plus version and think this is better than the standard version. The ability to play music from the remote unit is very useful at calming my daughter down with out having to go into the room.

The temperature reading on our unit is not acurate, but we don't use that feature so it is not a problem.

Excellent monitor - I have two. The parent unit uses standard AA rechargeables, the one which come with the unit are low capacity 1300's but can be cheaply upgraded to 2400's if you want more power.

I've also got the plus version and the ability to play the tunes without going in the room actually does help in those "borderline" cases where they just need settling down again without too much disturbance. Depends on the child though I would think.
Sound quality is flawless, though I'd echo the last post in suggesting you invest a couple of quid in some 2500mah (or better) Nimh batteries.
Bottom line is I'd recommend without hesitation at this price.

I have had 2 of them and been very careful with both (plus versions), however both broke shortly after 12mths, they would link up but no sound coming out.

Spoke to BT who couldnt give a damn and just said tough luck. When first one broke we thought we had just been unlucky but then for 2 to go is more than bad luck. Great product whilst it works, have not got Tomy at least there is a 2 year warranty.

We got the plus version off ebay for £30 re-conditioned and it has been perfect - I agree its temperature sensor leaves alot to be desired but we don't use it anyway. Also upgraded the batteries and it will last for a couple of days off the base unit with ease.

We have had a set of these for over three years now and the sound quality is very good. Non-digital ones aren't a patch on these - worth every penny. Great as the kids get older too, speech is very clear on them so can use like an intercom as well.
