Great phone, bought one of these in the BT advent calender event just before christmas. Great phone, plenty of features, great call quality, a bargain at this price. It also has an infared port for sending pictures and ringtones from a mobile etc!

These reviews seem to disagree with you:

We got one in the BT Advent Calendar promotion. Looks very smart, but had a really annoying hum when making a call. Also quite faint if I remember. Think it is definitely a case of looks over performance. Ours went straight back in the box, and the tusty panasonic came back out...
#22
Be careful with this as the reviews seem to all say about battery life being short and also quite a few other faults listed.I have been using Panasonic Dect phones for about 2 years now with no problems whatsoever i think it is a case of going for a reputable name.

Nice find, tempted to order this as my phones are out of the ark! :giggle:

Rep and heat added :)

Well, even at £32 if you need to keep them charged up all day it is a waste of money. Any other good reviews would be nice from those who own this phone as it looks nice

I am sure loads of people bought this as its been posted on here many times before... but not much feedback :( I admit the price seems to good to be true!!
#28
just bought one with discount got £4.50 off plus quidco

Bought one on the advent offer at Xmas for £45. After 2 days the screen went ded so returned it for money back. Loses charge quickly and not the best for volume, very quiet.
#30
is this having speaker phone???
#31
i have one of these phones and im very pleased with it, maybe the battery isnt fantastic(as suggested in other reviews) but ive never had a problem as mine is left in the cradle when not in use.

i would give it 5 out of 5 and ive had it about 6 months trouble free.

I bought a BT DECT phone recently and sent it back due to various faults and got a replacement which I also returned and ended up getting a refund on.

Every thing about it was poor quality...the look, feel and reception. I ended up reverting back to my far superior 10 year old Samsung which still looks and works like it was bought yesterday.

Was it this phone or a different model?

Yeah, sorry, it was a different more expensive model which I think was the BT Equinox 1200.

Just ordered a couple as my answerphones playing up!

They seem to have a "headset port" - does anyone know what thats about & what headsets would fit?
#36
mine just arrived! I admit the quality is not as great as it looks in the pic. The screen is not great (uneven brightness). Seems to work Ok though had a little play but going to leave on charge now.

Mine just arrived (24 hrs after ordering!)

Comes with 2 x 750mah rechargable AAA batteries so I've replaced these with 2 new 900mah batteries (to see if this will improve reported short battery life).

Will have a play tomorrow.

Quick review for those still tempted.

Handset:
Unit does not look quite as slick in the flesh as it does in the Pic - seems more lightweight & plasticky but not too bad. The base looks fine.

Ring-Ring:
Why does no-one make a phone that rings like a phone anymore - there are a few ringtones on the phone but only 2 that sound anything like a phone as opposed to an ice-cream van (& even they are a bit pants). Luckily you can transfer ringtones from your mobile or computer (midi files) via IR or record your own ring tone.

It seems that you can record a voice as a ringtone then attach that "ringtone" to a particular number (need caller disply). You could therefore have the phone shouting "HELLO ITS MUM - PICK UP THE PHONE" when mummy calls.....................................................................................................perhaps not then...

Sound:
Sounds ok on a call & they seem to hear me ok (always a good thing I find) - Its a bit tinny on hands free but I suppose thats par for the course.

Battery life:
As I mentioned in my previous post I used 900mah batteries instead of the 750's that came with the phone & it has now been off the charger for 28 hours (following an overnight initial charge).

The phone has been used more than normal during that time (over 1 hr on the phone to Sky because of another offer on HUKD - ended in success I'm pleased to report!) The phone is currently showing half its power has been used so I'm reasonably pleased with this.

When not in use it seems to maintain a low backlight which brightens when you use it - this seems a bit daft from a battery point of view - If anyone knows if this can be switched off please let me know.

Range:
Not as good as my old phones, this seems to be down to the handset as I have registered my old handset to the new base & they get further than the new handset before crackling.

Opinion:
I needed a new base/answerphone as my old one was playing up - for around £30 this does the job & I can still use my old handsets thanks to that GAP compatability thingy.

Well worth £30 squid if you ask me (but wouldnt have been happy if paying the original selling price).

God bless BT (& God bless Sky)

p.s. Thanks Coalfield.

Nice review Tomb. Same gripes as me.. but over all its well worth the £30.

Another thing I noticed is the phone is a LOT thinner than in the picture, and longer. The aspect of the image has been played with methinks ;-)

Still available :)

Thanks for the feedback all ;-)
