We've got some oldish cordless phones quadpack, with 2 needing to be replaced. They are NTL branded even though we're on BT, they say SECT on them, does that mean i can use these? I have registered an additional handset before, but it was the same brand.

Cheers

But have you read the last bit of the double the difference price promise?
It does not apply to any BT services (including BT Broadband and BT Home IT Advisor), BT's home security products (BT Home Monitor VP1000) and accessories, ex-display, factory reconditioned, re-boxed, reworked or refurbished products, previously returned items, any second hand/pre-owner products including items resold through eBay or Amazon, products bought from trade distributors, individual products sold as part of a bundle, products imported from outside the UK or any products not purchased through the BT Shop.

Stupid question - Does the second unit have to be plugged into the phone network or is it wireless?

The second unit needs to be plugged to mains electricity :)

Its only the base unit (with answering machine) that needs to be connected to telephone line.

Great deal edi. Voted hot and ordered!

I thought that this might be a stumbling block if you challenge BT's price promise

The products being compared must be:

1. the same product
2. new and unused
3. in stock and available immediately for purchase within the UK.
4. The lower price must have been available in the 7 day period immediately after original purchase was made from the BT Shop.

BTW - Great Price - Heat added

Quote from BT website
"This phone is NOT GAP compatible and cannot be linked to other telephone systems."

My Mother owns these and she absolutely hates them. Why? Volume level apparently. Normal conversation is constantly interupted by bouts of silence and it can reduce audio level down to a whisper which i have heard myself.

I like the look of them personally. Anyone else own a set of these that can confirm audio quality/levels ?
#32
Well done edi. just ordered, rep added and voted hot

My friend has these and isn't overly impressed by them either. I used it last time I was there and thought they felt very cheap. The buttons are soft rubber and unresponsive. To make an internal call you need to go through the menu system about three levels, rather than just hitting "int" and the handset number (as you did on older BT phones). The sound level issue, I noticed if she doesn't talk directly into the microphone I couldn't hear her very well.

All my home phones are BT models from a few years ago which I really like. The quality has certainly gone down hill since then having seen several of their more recent phones.

It is a good price, but I feel you're sort of getting what you pay for.
