I would have thought this was a better bet

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/621046/panasonic-kx-tg6422es-dect-twin-dig

and cheaper too.

Who paid nearly £120 for a twin set?

EDIT : Actually I think you've possibly found the most expensive price for this product. A quick google shows it at £41.04 here http://www.amazon.co.uk/BT-Graphite-Digital-Cordless-Telephone/dp/B00166049Y

with some pretty bad reviews - though admittedly the ones on Argos aren't too bad.

I have the Graphite 1100 phones. They have annoyingly loud ringtones, and the loudspeaker function is rubbish. However they are very sturdy reliable, good quality handsets, which have survived several falls onto my varnished floorboards.

This isn't the best value, but welcome to the site! Don't let a poor reception to your deal put you off posting more!

why not reduce the volume of the ringer to LO then (on base of unit) and mode to RAMPED (side of phone - gradually increses volume)?

maybe do what I do and set the answerphone to answer after 1 ring and then have RAMPED on. It wont get loud at all before answerphone kicks in. Stops cold callers dead as well :-D

To set the answer delay
You can set the number of times the
telephone will ring before the Freestyle 1100
Plus answers the call. The ANS DELAY switch
can be set to 2, 6 or TS (Time Saver), by
moving the switch one step at a time.
• The 2 rings setting will be answered after
approximately 7 seconds. Your Freestyle
1100 Plus is preset to this position.
• The 6 rings setting will be answered after
approximately 19 seconds.
• The TS setting (Time Saver) is used to save
time when accessing your machine
remotely. Your Freestyle 1100 Plus answers
after 2 rings if you have any new messages
or 6 rings if there are none. When you call
to listen to your messages, if the telephone
rings a third time it means there are no
messages, so hang up to save time.

Why bother with all that messing around, and get proper DECT phones.

Tried many, Panasonic are the only brand to buy, stick around and offers DO come up.
