With BT increasing the line rental to 13.90 from 13.60, I called them up and asked for a deal. This is what I was offered.

£ 10.60 for 12 months includes line rental + Evening and Weekend calls.

Call 0800 800 150 and talk to retention.

If you do the Line Rental Saver it costs you £10 a month, although you have to pay it up front, but if you have the cash it gets it out of the way.

I did enquire about that. I was told this offer has unlimited evening calls. 6 pm to 6 am, where as Line Rental Saver has only weekend calls. Compromise for 0.60 extra.

I think you'll find it's 7pm - 7am, so you may be incurring hefty costs for dialling before 7pm.

The offer they have is £15 a month.

Pay for the Line Rental Saver upfront £120 (£10 a month) and then £5 for unlimited landline calls (01,02 etc) upto an hour in length.

Had same offer 2 months ago.
£10.60 per month less £1.25 paper free billing making £9.35 per mth plus calls.
However after only 2 months they have incorrectly took the wrong monies per month and after ringing Delhi etc etc and promised call backs that never materialize I WILL NEVER USE BT AGAIN AFTER THIS RUBBISH SERVICE.
I wish i had gone to o2 as i was going to
I suggest anyone who is uncertain GO ELSEWHERE.
I will when my last 10 months is over and wish i hadn't resigned with BT this time
BIG MISTAKE but we all must learn from it

i phoned them I got with broadband included and line rental and anytime calls £22.35 a moth I was paying £33.75 a mth. This is a 12 mth contract. I have the option of paying for the upfront line rental at a later date if I chose. I think this is a good deal anyone do better. Good phonecall to save me £11.25 a mth or over the year £135 approx

Will have to give them a call, I just got my latest bill last week and they are charging an extra £3 for some reason, perhaps something to do with just passed my first 12 months. I have line rental, evening and weekend calls and broadband and being charged about £29 (now up to £32).

So how have you removed BT from your equation? Isnt your line copper to a BT exchange? Aren't you reliant on BT to fix line faults? I think price is a pretty fair differentiator when choice is really an illusion.

you can remove BT from the equation by swapping over to a cable provider, which is exactly what i'm in the process of doing

If your saying what i think you mean then the answer is mobiles and cable instead.
And also the less business put into BT the less business they have . Less business = either cheaper and better service or go bust. Either way they need to do something!!! preferably go bust for me.

If you are going to have a rant about a company you should at least have a vague idea what you are talking about. Clearly pointless continuing conversation.
