I bought a single one of these as a additional handset from ebay for a fiver its a very good phone better than the others i have in the main rooms and these cost £100 voted hot for a solid phone.
#3
Good deal for 4 handsets, heat added.
#4
Good price but I hate these 'BT style' phones.
#5
Quite an old model... nevertheless, good price :)

I want to buy a couple of phones for my parents. Anyone know of the best ones to get for two people in their 70's who are a bit hard of hearing - so the volume on them would need to be able to be turned up quite a bit.
Not sure if these BT phones are good in that respect?? If they are then even though there are 4 of them may be ok.
I am in two minds about an answerphone as I don't think they necessarily need one.

edit: just looked at the review on Amazon for these and it is not very good. Hot price but not for me.

Thanks.

oh, and don't forget Quidco...

These are rubbish! Stay away! I deal with lots of different electronics and these are very poor build quality! Will last max a year. Difficult to deal with as well.

To previous post: The volume control doesnt go very loud.

My best tip is to avoid DECT phones. Often they interfere with hearing aids, and cause a load of whistling interference. You should go for a non-DECT BT phone, and some of them are designed for use with hearing aids.

Have a look around the BT website for more details.

They don't have hearing aids as 'they don't need them', or so they say. They can't hear everyone telling them they do need them.

Cant say I agree - Ive got 2 BT Studio 1500's and they are still going strong after 2 years :)

I've got the triple set. They work ok. Answer phone stopped working but a full reset fixed that. Only problem is that only 2 of the phones will re-register with the base now. Numbers 1 and 3. Maybe I'll try deleting 3 and starting again but I don't want to be down to only 1 phone if it goes wrong!

The volume on this one is pretty decent I believe....

It also doubles as a car which I think may come in handy - although I am not sure what would happen legally if you answered a call whilst driving....

And no...thats not me!!

My suit is more lycra and orange in colour...

I bought this set from woolworths over 12 months ago for £14.99, had no problems at all.

another one who has to disagree we have the quad set and have had them maybe over 2 years still going strong I have replaced the batteries because they were losing their charge capacity but other than tha great phones and as for the volume not being loud enough I find when ceratin people phone I can hear them even when I am not the one talking to them and across the other side of the room maybe we just have a load of loud mouths in our family :whistling:

my dad's had these (or something very similar) for about 3 years now. i'm not sure if the separate bases cut the charge when finished, because the handsets are always very hot to to the touch, and as a result they only last about 20 minutes now.
#19
i've had a set of these for a couple of years. The first set died after 6months which comet replaced. I then bought a couple of extra handsets. Of the 4 we now have two have failed and the base is making almost all calls a nightmare due to the audio quality.

In short avoid like the plague!

I have just ordered some Panasonic phones as the BT ones we had - cheap trio from Ebuyer ages ago - were useless - lost charge very quicly, poor sound quality etc - on a serious note I wouldn't buy these as reviews on other websites in general for the cheaper range of BT phones seem to suffer some form of problem holding charge etc (or more bad reviews in this respect than you would expect). Spend a bit more and get some that you won't need to replace every 6-12mnths I would say :)
#21
Surely these carry a guarantee in case some thing goes wrong? Not bad for 30 quid?
