In fact, just did the same and the in-laws are very happy - and more importantly the wife.

Found it couldn't read the contacts off an old Vodafone SIM card - but worked fine with an Orange SIM (strange?) - easily fixed by using another mobile phone to copy off contacts from SIM to memory and vice-versa.

Nice phone - easy to use and works simply out-of-the-box - great deal at this price.

Heat from me.

i have these, and they are great. unfortunatly i bought the quad set at a stupid hiked up price :( but the phones are great and no problems with them :)

Thanks, needed new house phones for months but always been put off by dodgy handsets, but these sound like a decent bit of kit - especially for this money.

The Amazon user reviews paint a good picture... http://www.amazon.co.uk/BT-Synergy-Cordless-Answer-Machine/dp/B001O3NXZG

£24.99 in Sainsburys today, £34.99 in Tesco or Asda - I forget which.

BT are flogging them off to retailers in readyness for their new model.

The display on the Panasonic looks to be larger and therefore easier to read if you are long-sighted.

Anyone get the sim reader to work?

Doesn't recognise anything on my 02 sim.
#19
yep my sim worked - orange network :)

worked a treat - i love it

#20
Negative. Kinda thinking it's summat to do with it being an iPhone sim.
#21

#23

Is that because all your numbers are stored on your handset rather than the SIM?

How? More features doesn't mean better, if those features are of no use to you.
#26
that is true pibpob, but the features on the bt one r what im looking for. and i do like to stick to brand i know as im sure others do as well.

but everyone is different and like/wants different things
#27
Sorry - I thought you were comparing with the Panasonic ones.
