This company launched about 2 weeks ago hence not many people know about them!

They are part of Casino group - one of the largest retailers in the world. They are massive in France, Germany etc.

Drive May have reliability issues:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/product/B000VEMOA4/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?%5Fencoding=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

Seems it dies anytime between 6 to 9 months after purchase.

I never trust those reviews on hard drives to be honest as the only people that ever seems to post are those that have failures and yes there are always going to failures when it comes to hard drives. I have a seagate external drive that has been call useless, unreliable and brittle, well i have had the drive for 2 years and i have actually knocked it over more times than i care to imagine and i also safefly remove far less than i should and the drive has been perfect.

The only review on that page i would take notice on is the one that say his had a seagate drive inside, now i know that does not mean batch will but if it does that you have got a quality hard drive for not much money

I have this exact model, had it for nearly 2 years, no complaints. It even survived having orange juice spilt on it.

Anyone know what drives are in them? :?

Thanks.

I have to agree, Cdiscount have never been know for being speedy. Hopefully they will have a different, brand new infrastructure over here. I'm glad to see them crossing the Channel though, they're a serious and trustworthy player in the field (backed by the French no.2 retailer Casino), and they've always had fantastic deals.
And surely, competition can only be a good thing, right?

Voted hot, going to place my order right now for the other half, that's Christmas sorted! (I'm not fussed about receiving it after Xmas)
Thanks!

I have the older version of this drive - I see they've added a 'turbo' bit to it - just as well, the drive I have is pretty poor, it runs a like a 2 legged dog.

Has anyone actually received anything from this company yet? (anyone with a post count of over 10).

I just recieved a delay email, stating that due to a serious incident on the A40 last night, my order will be delayed by a few days, but they have refunded my delivery charge so not too bad.
