This is a desktop drive so it won't run off USB.

It comes with a standard UK power supply plug - most/all 3.5" drives come with these.

Anyone know how genuine the power saving mode is on this device?

I'd also be interested to know what drive is inside as I believe Samsungs have been used in the past by Buffalo (as well as other brands). Also where are they made Japan/China ......

any body/owners know what hdd is used inside the case? also I see buffalo has redesigned the outer case/enclosure & made it more stylish, but is it more efficient? is it made of plastic or metal/aluminium? does it get hot when switched on or when in use? does it sound quite loud when on/in use? any reviews rom owners of this drive?

TIA for any info.

Having just got mine I can tell you it's really quiet and my pc itself is a lot louder with its own fans. The case is made from plastic. So far it's not got warm but I've only had it on an hour.

thanks for the update m8, was hoping someone would see this thread & post a review.

really very tempted to buy this drive right now, so is it quite sturdy/well built? what brand of hdd is inside? also is it better to get it from Amazon or Play both 79.99? shame because Play only has a tiny 0.5% quidco for pc hardware. But I've read somewhere people are having problems returning faulty drives to Play because are they're based in Jersey & that affected the RTB, so is it better to buy from Amazon as they're shipped from within the Uk mainland?

thanks again.

Play ship hardware from UK mainland as well, otherwise you'd get hit with import duty:thumbsup:
