A great 1TB NAS Drive:

* Web Access - access your digital library from anywhere with PC, MAC or iPhone
* Built-In Itunes and DLNA Media Server connects to DLNA compatible digital entertainment devices
* One touch transfer of media files from digital camera/camcorder with Direct Copy feature
* Built-In BitTorrent Client

Been looking at one of these for a while now and some really good features. There are a few NAS drives that are cheaper, but none of which can do all these things. Was £199.99 last weekend on Amazon. But now £179.99!

Pretty much the same sort of price, from where I am looking, so why would anyone bother?

Where is it "much cheaper?"

Like this one for example? £102.34 for the NAS enclosure alone. And you could add a 1TB drive for about £72 which would bring it to about £175 all in.

Introducing the Icy Box IB-NAS4220-B, a multimedia server and two-disk RAID in one. Combine two 3.5" SATA drives into one larger drive or store everything automatically on both disks identically to avoid data loss if one disc fails. Connect printers, external hard drives and USB sticks with the two USB 2.0 interfaces and share them via network. Using a network media player you have access to your media collection without a running PC. The integrated BitTorrent client downloads data from the internet without the hassle of leaving your PC on.

- Samba Server
- NFS Server
- FTP Server
- DHCP Server
- UPnP-AV
- ITunes Support
- Print Server
- Gigabit Ethernet

Plus delivery (10 quid for the enclosure alone!)

As I say, why would anyone bother, it's dearer :-(

If you want to cut costs, you could always buy the single drive version of this NAS enclosure from Amazon.co.uk for £96.36 including delivery. This would be a fairer comparison to the OP anyway.
