Would this work with a Squeezebox? I can never get my head around networking compatibilities, too complicated.
#3
The drive says supports IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3u

then the squeezebox site says 802.11g compatable.

Are these compatable standards or not?

The Buffalo is a NAS and attaches to your local area network via Ethernet (the 802.3 standards you quote). Your Squeezebox connects wirelessly via 802.11g (wireless ethernet).

If you can plug the Buffalo into say a wireless router they should be able to talk to each other.

Thanks for the translation, back to the drawing board for me.
