quality price if this is correct - these retail for £230 at ebuyer

They can also act as a media server for your ps3 if you upgrade the ps3's firmware to the new version (1.8) which means you can access all your music, photos and videos on your tv via your wireless network

Have you got any more info on this? I currently use XBMC on the Xbox which is excellent, could be tempted to upgrade to a PS3 if it is as good.

I have the 300gig Linkstation, and have found it superb for my purposes. Ive recently become quite interested in the home media topic myself and was going to try XBMC - however this is getting me thinking about the best way to use my linkstations media streaming ability.

The linktheater retails for around £100 so i wouldnt think that was a cost effective way of getting your media onto your tv. The ideal option for me would be sub £60 that could be updated with the latest codecs (could the ps3 do this as i know the xbox360 cant) and connect to my linkstation.

Checkout TVersity Media Server, this runs on your PC and will stream media to your PS3. Codecs are not a problem as it will convert on the fly to a codec that is supported by the PS3.

TVersity works well with the Nintendo Wii.
