A very high speed wireless router, which also acts as access point . possible misprice.

Discontinued, but reviews are excellennt - you can't go wrong for a tenner. Found it in the reduced aisle in caerphilly about 2 hours ago, fully cellophaned packaging. other models also there but priced at £15 and smaller spec. A very fast device for the price

shame it's not an built-in adsl modem version, tho for £10 might be worth a try if I can find it in the Reading branch(I have a ethernet modem I got from aol a few years back). I have a 3yr old belkin g+ router/modem, been looking for a replacement for awhile.

have a ds(phate) and dsi so the aoss will come in usefull as I wouldn't have to turn off the security/downgrade to wep when I want to connect to the net.

Actually that's better as you can use it for ADSL and cable service. For ADSL you simply plug this router into your old router, and connect your wireless stuff through the Buffalo instead. Particularly useful if you are using Sky broadband as they don't like you using any other router except theirs. I know cos that's what I am doing at the moment. I did have a belkin N+ vision but was limited to 1mb (from 4mb) because Sky didn't like it. Using the above method I am back to 4mb. Switching to Virign cable also because of the above...

Does anyone know if will I be able to use this with my existing cable modem?

I can confirm it is safe from the GigE virus at this time (NHS(v1) Trust)
(please don't worry about it and contact your local wireless Polyclinic on a regular and local basis)

Strange how great deals never seem to reach any Newcastle stores.
It applies to all. Even Tesco, who normally do one, they do them all.
(Poundlands the worst)

I just bought that £17.99 Belkin from a couple of pages back anyways !

Just looking at a couple of reviews - not great, actually.

Called in the store OP mentioned this morning, none of these left but did pickup a Buffalo WHR-G125 for £15. Will be flashing it with dd-wrt this afternoon and testing it on the xbox. Great bargain! Think they had a couple left.

Also got the last WBMR-G125 Buffalo for £10.
#18
Mikey, how many did they have left of the £15 ones? I will pop in to the Carephilly store after i finish work if they will have some left.

Buy 2 - bridge mode - 360 wireless-n access sorted for a fraction of the price

Can it act as wireless bridge if communicating with a another brand of wireless modem/router e.g. Netgear? I've read that some routers only talk to the same kit e.g. Linksys.

Or will I need to buy 2 i.e. 1 connected to existing wireless modem/router for communitcating to the same "brand" router elsehere?

Should work fine with a different brand altho Im not even sure this does bridge mode? Presumably it does from previous comments.

Will this give better performance even if your laptop only has a g-rated wireless card?

Long since stopped selling these in my local Morrisons. I did buy a couple of other buffalo routers from them for £10 when they were on offer about 9 months ago. It was a HOT UK deal at the time.

Sadly this router cannot act as a wireless client
#31
None in Port Talbot (Aberavon)
#32
As expected, none in Weymouth. Sadly most HUKD store specific deals never get this far south!! (often get some goodies online tho!)

great deal if you can get it!

Very true, due to the fact that there were non available in the first instance! :whistling:

Hi picked up the last of the buffalo routers @ £15 in Caerphilly saturday - suprised it was still there !!

I am hoping its going to be straight forward to set up ! Its says it has easy set up with Nintendo DS's but I want it for an itouch more than anything - so fingers crossed !!!

cheers to the op for the spot

ps I think everyone should treat most deals as a possibility of getting a bargain not a definite. Even if stores nationwide have the deal going - doesn't mean they won't sell out - possibly even before the deal gets posted on here.

Deals are there to be helpful to as many people as possible - but that doesn't mean everyone & its good when the deal poster tells us where they picked it up - to give everyone an idea of where they definitely are being sold.

Edit : Gutted !!!! opened box and no router inside !!!- box was heavy enough - but that was the weight of the power charger !!!
looks like morrisons are going to cough up - I should have checked the box instore as there was a rip on the lid which morrisons had re-taped thought they had had it out to add a securty tag inside.

2nd time in a few months last one was no modern warfare 2 disc in sealed case bought in Tesco just before xmas - this getting annoying !!! :viking:

Further edit !!! Prob no-body reading this anymore !! but took router box back Morrisons gave full refund plus £5 voucher to cover costs of returning goods.

I've been wanting to go to morrisons to see if they have this one but been lazy, I doubt they'll have any left but I'm off out tomorrow so will stop by and check.

bobbybuilder I know it's too late now but the aoss feature would not have worked with the ipod touch(there's no such thing as an itouch, people keep calling the ipod touch the itouch), it works with the ds/dsl/dsi, psp(not sure about the psp go), ps3(I think, have to check, been ages since I last looked at the network settings on my ps3) and buffalo wifi adaptors(usb, pci and laptop cards). to conect the ipod touch you'd have to do the normal wep/wpa setup(if you want encryption).

If this is an acces point with lan connetions then it will work fine with the 360. An Access point is just a repeater/hub, ethernet/cat5 cable to the 360 and should work - may have to fiddle with router settinngs to convert to access point.

Yea but cannot be used as a wireless xbox adapter, which is what he was on about.

Firstly I think this deal will not be widely found across the land.

Secondly I never expected that feature to work with the itouch - I was referring to how easy it was going to be to get the router & touch to talk to each other as my touch ( oops where's the i gone or the pod for that matter !! ) can be quite choosey on times when connecting to certain wi-fi networks.

Thirdly I always call it itouch, its quicker easier and god knows how many millions on the net call it that - try googling itouch and see what comes up plus anyone who i have ever mentioned itouch to has instantly known what i was talking about and anyway I can call it what I like as long as people understand what I am talking about - as you obviously did !!! how about "that touchy thing from apple that plays video with apps" you would still know what i meant
Perhaps someone grabbed the itouch branding before them and thats why they don't call it that - who knows.
Some people are like the thought police !!! Are you a retired headmaster perchance ???

There will prob be a re-brand of the name in future - makes sense ipod, iphone , ipad, itouch !! and since it does so much more than the original ipods why should it not be classed as a seperate product in its own right !!!! you need more sleep grouchy !!!

go fill your face with this argument on facebook you will fit in nicely !!

http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=12674111613&topic=6962

Edit : may have your answer for you - probably Apple would have loved to call it the itouch but it looks like the brand is already owned :

stradijeri (not verified) | January 19, 2010 - 2:44pm .The problem is, a company already owns the name "iTouch," which is a gaming interface for PCs!

in the end I didn't stop at morrisons today, will try tomorrow. I was thiniking about calling up to check last week when this deal was first posted but didn't.

bobbybuilder I'm not a retired headmaster as I'm only 27, also can't join the facebook group as I'm not on facebook(and no plans of ever registering) :)

Is there any Morrison in London has this in stock? I tried a few big stores. They said they never heard of them. :)

Updated: ~One of the staff at Holloway Morrison was terrible. She answered the phone in half asleep mood. Then don't even know what wireless router is. Put me on hold for ages to find out with someone. After 5-10 mins phone rings back automatically. She answered again and lied to me saying they don't sell it. (I am sure she didn't even bother check it)
