Great price £100 off RRP

Excellent price but I used to be a Buffy fan but it's aged so badly that I can't really watch them again now.

Excellent price, I brought this a while back for a bit more (from amazon i think)

I think it has aged well, still a lot of good issues brought up over the shows lifespan, I am currently re-watching season 4 :)

Slight problem is that I won't find time to watch them! Maybe I should cancel...

I bought the first season for the bargain price of £35 then practically vomited when I saw the near £80 price tags on subsequent series.

Has anyone's Quidco tracked yet? Edit: Just got it.

I bought this myself from Amazon recently for about £60, this is a great price.

Am working my way slowly through them all- just finished season 2.

Yes, some of the special effects now look like they could be created with a load of sticky backed plastic and a glue gun, but that's not the point. Buffy taught me some valuable life lessons. Main one being that if the local museum gets any kind of ancient artifact delivered a) its never good news b) don't open the lid and c) whatever is in it is likely to kill a few people and/or bring about the end of the world.

I've been waiting for this to come down under £50 for ages now, now it does and i've got no money!!

Same thing happened with west wing box set week or two back.

That may have something to do with the first series being half as long though.

I know, I gave it an ounce of respect as it was twice as many discs but still felt disgusted by the investment to pursue it further. It was a hell of a lot of money to spend as a student.

I still look at DVD's like Terminator 2 (£24.99) and wonder how much I spent in the early days of DVD. I bought things like Jaws as a 3 for £40 deal back in the day as a bargain.

Price of early adoption I guess.

nice price for this R2 UK set, tempted by it myself, not a big Buffy fan but used to watch it quite a lot on BBC2, and liked it, but if your a Buffy lover/purist, then the R1 version is better for season 5, 6, 7, because:

R1 America for a fullscreen original ratio as explained in this note from creator Joss Whedonas found in the series 4 box set:
Gentle Viewer,
No doubt you are looking over this scrumptious BUFFY package and exclaiming "No @#$%ing letterboxing ? Whutzat ? GYPPED !" Possibly you are breaking things. Please calm down. The fabulous episodes of BUFFY (and that one ****** one, sorry about that, seemed really cool when we wrote it...) were not shot in a widescreen format. They were shot in the TV 4 by 3 ratio. Now I'm a letterbox fanatic, but not just because I crave th' wide. I want to see the whole screen, as framed by the director. The BUFFY's I (and others) shot were framed for traditional TVs. Adding space to the sides simply for the sake of trying to look more cinematic would betray the very exact mise-en-scene I was trying to create. I am a purist, and this is the purest way to watch BUFFY. I have resisted the effort to letterbox BUFFY from the start and always will, because that is not the show we shot. This is. So enjoy ! Stop breaking things. You're getting the best presentation of -- let's face it -- the best Television Drama since MATCHGAME '79. Bye for now !
Sincerely,
Joss Whedon

Why they artificially made season 5 - 7 of R2 release Anamorphic Widescreen we'll never know, personally I prefer the aspect ratio the director intended for us to see, whether it 's the older Fullscreen, or the better & newer Widescreen.
