Yes. And yes.

This post is misleading. I thought I was going to get £20 for buying this :D

this is OK but nothing special.

Rye one is good, never tried the bourbon

You'll struggle to get a better bourbon for £20.

Yes, slightly more peppery than the other but not like a totally different experience - for me at least. Still lovely.

Woodford Reserve is available for £22. Any suggestions please, and preference on which to recommend (also possibly on Buffalo Trace as well)? Appreciate taste is subjective...

I've never tried WR. BT is beautiful but shouldn't be more than 18 quid on offer. Bulleit is good stuff as it's robust enough to taste the difference in a mixer or with water (solid or liquid state). Bang for buck, though, it's hard to beat Jim Beam at a tenner a bottle.

If you can wait a bit, Amazon had tons of offers over the Black Friday period last year. I picked up some lovely Mellow Corn and Rittenhouse Rye, both BiB and, therefore, 50 abv.

Not much in it. Either would be a good buy at the prices quoted.

Excuse my complete lack of knowledge. But is this something that a jack Daniels fan would like?

If you have only ever had JD you will wake up a realise that you have been drinking a sub standard product all these years. I would never drink standard JD again after trying Bulleit, Woodford and any other number of superior Bourbons and American whiskeys .

I tried the rye version, didn't like it at all, but the regular bourbon I've been through 4 bottles this year. Woodford Reserve is similar, between the two I find Bulleit smoother, and goes well in a mixer also.

I'm not a whiskey connoisseur tho, tend to prefer smooth easy going bourbons.

And yes again, but I think rye is a more acquired taste than bourbon.
