Look a bit like the Veho brand which sells on Amazon for about £7. Okayish but nowhere near as good as the Xmi mini 2 which are fantastic.
#2
How could this not get hot.....unless it's real bad and in no comparrison to the real deal. Just connect a bunch together.£1? Worth the punt! Thanks for the post
#3
well worth a pound surely.
#4
Gotta have some heat for this - speakers for a pound? Even better that they're shaped like a burger!
Might go grab some and see how they are.
#5
I have 2 of the X-Mi mini's and they are great but cost £13 a pop, so at £1, these could be daisy-chained, and I'll bet you will be well-satisfied.

I'd buy 5 and see what they sound like together.
#6
hardly a big gamble, is it? Hot!
#7
I havent seen this particular model in poundland but with all the other burger speakers they tend to have their own internal battery and recharge via USB rather than be powered.

This may not be the case for this one, but I wouldnt discount it immediately. Maybe the OP can confirm? If it does, this is super hot.

Aye but will they be as good as the £80 HDMI ones? oO

Snake,

Picture suggests that it's USB charged too. i'd say it has its own battery.

On a slightly seperate note. Ive got one of the X-Mi minis and if I did daisy chain them would i need to plug both (for 2) into a USB socket, or would the second get charged via the first.?

I don't think the second gets power from the first as if memory serves the connection is by the 3.5mm audio jack and not by the USB plug.

What you could do is charge No1 and daisy chain them, then if No2 gives up the ghost, switch them round so No1 is on the battery and No2 is then charging, simples.

I think you would have to charge them separately. I have 4 x mi minis and a veho and havent been able to charge them in daisy chain format. The best you could do is perhaps find a double headed USB cable so you could charge from the same port.....

Worth a gamble!

Cheers guys, was just considering replacing my extremely weak desktop speakers with these, freeing up a plug socket. It's no biggie.
#17
Think i might make the trip lunchtime and double up with one of the notebook sleeves posted yesterday too. Throw the xmini on the desktop and pop this on the lappy.
#18
I used 20000 of these to do the sound for Elton John at a stadium gig in Bradford recently, sounded great.

Heat added...... Just for putting High Quality and Poundland in the same sentence X)

OMGosh it appears this tiny device actually materializes your music before your very eyes! But can it cure world hunger?

Seriously I have one of the xmi minis and they are outstanding, couldnt imagine traveling without it. I know this wont be anywhere near the quality but I bet you it gives a nicer sound than the built in speakers on most netbooks at least. HOT
#27
I've got an X-Mini and its excellent, but the cable has become a bit worn - be worth buying this £1 version just for the cable...
#28
can someone with ears put this against a genuine xmini and describe, please?
