They post from the US to Europe and then from Europe to the UK so it will take longer to arrive

They offer free delivery worldwide so no hidden costs

I havent used them till now but have ordered my copy of burnout from them as thyy were the cheapest i am not fussed about when the game turns up to be honest so can afford to wait....

orthers may not want to wait and can get the game on UK release from the regular UK retailers
#7
LOL, I have just ordered this from Movietyme, then I clicked on hotuk to see the latest deals and here it was.....LOL.
#8
Can't wait to play the full game, the demo's awesome (but as stated above, I hope there is a bit more to it...)
#9
Don't forget though, this will be the Canadian/American version, so you won't be able to trade it in at Game or Gamestation when you're done with it...

Hmm, very good point, even though I rarely trade my games in...

I don't know if I'd like a Yank version...

the demo is cack but then it doesn't unlock much playable stuff - worth giving a go and shoving on ebay if it is cack

well, i never did like the burnout games. Burnout paradise will be the first one i buy because of the demo. Maybe its people like me they were aiming for.
#18
Great deal. The prices on that web site are great, as long as you don't mind waiting for delivery. I've ordered my copy of Burnout. :)

Heat added.

LOL the minority? I doubt it - get over yourself pmsl - Burnout Rules!
#20
If ordering from usa does this get clobbered by the customs and excise people for more tax money on entering the UK.....:?:
#21
First, I do think it will be region free but it is EA :oops:

Secondly, will we be able to play on Europe servers with a NTSC/ US game:whistling::whistling::whistling:

well its plainly obvious that its been designed to pull in people who dont normally play burnout as well as those who do. i guess i didnt make myself clear. And i dont actually care if all those unhappy burnout fans dont buy it, that means there will be more players like myself online to play against.

it is Rfree and it will play on the euro servers fine, its the PS3 that decides where you play.

historically movietyme have been very slow on delivering for me (that's just getting it despatched). Then there's a whole other wait for it to arrive at your delivery point.

i think 17.99 is the import limit, so anything over could be subject to import tax (on a 20quid bluray my friend brought from movietyme he got hit for £10.60 import tax...

29.99 is a nice price for this game, but just realize that you're taking a risk (I'm myself, yet to be caught out by customs).

With the risk and long wait time, I'm tempted to buy elsewhere (personal preference).

It's still a good find though so i have to vote hot :)
#25
its a good price, just a shame its not in the uk. I ordered the game earlier from gameplay with a code that brought the price to £35
#26
They have raped the good name of 'Burnout' into this watered down ****** test drive open world rubbish.

Sorry if I sound bitter but Burnout Revenge is my favourite game of all time and paradise is pathetic. They shouldn't have even called it burnout.

Voted hot BTW, even though I hate the new game this is the cheapest I have seen

Indeed all PS3 games are region free, but i bought the NTSC Call of Duty 4 and can 100% guarantee you connect to US servers and CAN NOT play against friends with a PAL copy.
Me and friend both have 60gb UK models and my NTSC copy could not connect to any of my friends games. Sold it on ebay, got a euro one, now i connect to European servers, so it doesn't matter where in the world you are, its the game region that determines what servers you connect to so

WARNING HIGHLY DOUBT YOU CAN PLAY YOUR FRIENDS IF THEY HAVE THE PAL COPY!!

From what I've played and read online, the demo on the beach front is just one of the areas of the full game, it will still have the traditional countryside routes, mountains etc. There are only a limited amount of challenges in the demo that can be played when pulling up at traffic lights (3 i think?) but the full game is obviously going to have a whole load more races against the clock, pursuing other cars, racing against others etc. The difference seems to be a positive one, rather than having a static menu that you select the challenges in, you have a 'sandbox' open world environment where you can drive around to get to know the streets, discover 'hidden' items, perform jumps and barrel rolls etc., and the online multiplayer aspect seems really well integrated as well... the 'snapshot' of users with attached 'eye' cameras when you take them down is pretty funny!

Big fan of Burnout and am certainly looking forward to this one. Voted hot, but already pre-ordered from Game for £20.... but only because I've cashed in a whole load of reward points!

Thats exactly my point, I see all this as a huge negative, lobbies and static menus are so much better for this type of game than all this open world/sandbox rubbish. Each to their own and this will sell bucket loads anyway on the back of the burnout name.

Yup Yup, that s exactly what I was saying above,

So I wont get this NTSC version, not worth risking £30 and certainly not worth risking for a fiver difference :whistling:

yup yup, the online looks amazing and its probably all i will play!!

My PSN is no ice if anyone wants to add me for a hukd race!
#33
Careful because if you wanna play with your european mates, you will need the PAL version!

Resistance for example, at its very beginning, we were not able to play on the worldwide servers

thats strange then as I have a friends in the US and I play with them fine online so something is amiss... I doubt Sony would say 'yes you can have friends, but only if they live in the same region'..:?

Then either they have a PAL copy(unlikely), or yours is NTSC (look on the age rating to tell immediately) which is more likely. 95 percent on ebay are NTSC, even cheap UK online stockists sell imported games as they work out much cheaper even after importing them.

There a big debate over on the infinity ward forums over flowing with angry people that can't connect to friends servers for the regionality issue!
#36
I'll never forget first time I played first Burnout - took me about 40 minutes to come down after getting a liitle bit over-adrenalined.
Not much time left, but has anyone spotted any pre-order shop deals with an added gift, rather than just the cheapest?

To be honest when i put this deal up didnt even think about that albeit i dont go online with my games at the moment

so i am not that fussed that it wont connect to 'my european mates' and certainly worth it for me @ £29.99

although i can appreciate the concern with buying a US game if you play online alot and have a groupd of friends who you play games against

fair comment, but i suspect a lot of people will want to play this onine as i think its going to be a big plus point of the game. Its the reason i'm getting it!

I think resistance was the only game that ever did that, I have a Chinese PS3 and play mostly US games and I've never had an issue connecting a Euro server on any game but FOM.

anyone had any joy then connecting to people in the UK with this game?
