For info.

Only transmitters as far as I'm aware that are transmitting freeview HD are Winter Hill (Manchester) and Crystal Palace (London).

Yes, your right.........should have put that in

cool i was looking at getting freesat but this sounds even better

Freeview HD is currently available in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester and London and by the time the first World Cup game whistle sounds, viewers in Leeds, Bradford, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Shetland and Orkney can be able watch it in HD. That’s about 50% of the UK population! Freeview HD will then become available around the country on a region by region basis

50% of the population maybe, but not 50% of the country!

Seems a bit steep for a non-recording box? My Bush HD Freesat box was £52. Sure their will be the Humax snobs, but I would happily buy a Bush after the brill picture quality I get from my Bush.

So you don't want a better box, just a cheaper box from a "better" brand?:?

I think the word "muppet" is applicable in this case:p

If you cancel Sky you are still able to receive BBC HD and the other free HD Channels. So can't see them doing it anytime soon but I wish they would. I don't pay the extra £10 per month and after cancelling last August they finally (December) offered me whatever I wanted for half price on a 30 day rolling contract. I went for the basics and sports and pay £18 per month, they would not let me have HD for half price.

Regarding this offer, I think it's very expensive and these will probably be half that price within six months. It would have been a good deal if it had been a recorder.

The upside of the new HD Freeview is that there are loads of TV's on offer at the moment with the old Freeview. So if the HD option isn't a priority you can bag youself a bargain.
#13
Agree an ugly looking box but price is better than Humax box.
#14
As stated not such a great price for a non recorder.

Doesn't look like i will be able to recieve freeview hd until 2012 anyway so recorder boxes should be nice and cheap by then :-D

Is this actually freeview hd or just a hd box with freeview as it state...

Digital video broadcasting (DVB).

But freeviewHD is DVB2

I also have that channel available under 'other channels' and yes it was still available when I cancelled. Great for the Champions League matches.

For those that haven't already added ITV HD here is the website that shows you how to add the channel to your SKY HD Box.

But freeviewHD is DVB2

DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) is the umbrella name.

Sattellite = DVB-S
Standard Terrestrial = DVB-T
HD Terrestrial = DVB-T2

No i want a pvr box, not really fussy on the brand but £100 on anything made by bush is pushing it. These will come down loads just like freeview boxes.

So you've found a big brand, SD Freeview PVR for £100 - where?

Bush don't make them anyway - they're made by Chinese makers to a Bush price and specification.
#23
Same price on Homebase's website, but today & tomorrow (26th/27th) there's 15% off everything.
I.e. £90.94 delivered.
#24
£99 for 3 part time HD channels!!!!!
No thanks

Can you use this box with a normal digital aerial or do you need a satellite dish like Freeview HD?

No need for this any more... You have an ITV HD channel on 178... :whistling:

Surely at this price its beter value for money to buy a Freesat HD box and a DIY fit dish? Can't imagine it would be any more expensive, plus you would have more channels.

Make that Winter Hill - Bolton -
#34
well we manage to get all 3 HD channels on the store's new Panasonic 42" freeviewHD TV, in the NE33 area.
So I guess if you're in the North East, its on and working in some areas
#35
Why does this keep popping up? Are Argos paying to show non-bargains here?

We recieve freeview HD already in our area :D (sutton coldfield)

Gutted these boxes are pricey just for a reciever, theyre sure to come down in price eventually. may get one for the world cup though. I'd rather pay the extra and get the Humax one
#39
As a designer I can officially confirm this is an ugly bit of kit! It always amazes me why companies like Bush don't just spend a few extra pounds and get someone to design a nice bit of kit... I'm not talking Apple standards but I think my 9 year old niece could have done better.

Normal Digital aerial

no such thing as a "digital" aerial.

Having experienced Bush products before if it was £9.99 I would hesitate to consider purchasing this box.
