Has anyone got any experience of this system?

I'm sure there are better but for the price it has to be better than nothing?
#2
Excellent price Street :)

Yes?

Just been chcking up some prices on these showed up as £45 currys at currys (no postage) then i found what seems like an identical product on the dixons site for £99.00:

http://www.dixons-online.net/martprd/product/seo/TV+and+DVD/DVD+Home+Cinema/Bush/DVDAV14K/757568

Either way seems like a good deal!

I would be very surprised if it plays divx given the price. Had a quick look on the net and can't find a region hack for it either.

Anyone know if i can use this with my sky and xbox 360? If not can anyone recommend a system that can (pref. one i can pick up from the high street). Cheers,
#14
Can this be used on the comp?
#15
I've just ordered one but when I look at what it is selling at through other stores, including Dixons, I think any of us will be very lucky if we see one. Fingers crossed!
#16
This is fantastic value. Ordered two for spare bedrooms. Get 'em while you can before the ebaying scum get going;-)

Where can you get a DVD player, 5.1 amp and speakers for a shade over £20?

Fantastic and top marks to OP:thumbsup:

I bought a cheap 360 5.1 surround sound from Asda recently by "digihome" (i think) for £25, it has inputs for the 360 and dvd player and will also play anything that comes through your TV.

You don't have to go through the actual Egg link to get money back from Egg. I bought a washer dryer from Dixons a couple of weeks back using my Egg card via the Quidco link and still received my Egg cashback, so you can use Quidco and cashback from them both!
#23
Was going to buy, but if you read the T's & C's, the refund policy means you pay £7.99 for them to collect; meaning even if it's c**p, you're effectively stuck with it. Don't know if it can play mp3's or DivX movies. I'm sure there's better out ther for a little bit more money that do a better job.

Tesco: LG LHT250SC Home Theatre System <£40 (but currently o.o.s)

You must be a VERY patient sort of person then:giggle:

At this price you can't really go wrong. Yes Bush stuff is cheaply made chavvy **** for the most part, but if you just want a throwaway 5.1 system this is perfect. Ordered one even though I already have a 6.1 system (yes 6.1 in case anybody thought that was a typo lol).

Most important question has been missed though:

Is it hackable? I did have a Bush machine a while ago and even though it said R2 on the case it was R0 out of the box. Can't find a hack for this so heres hoping, and if it is, my R0 divx player finally gets the bin:-D
#33
will this work on anyother dvd player nd will it work if you watch normall telly?

I have seen 2 different specs on this (see page 1), one suggests DivX playback, the other doesn't. Will being able to hack the firmware get DivX & mp3 capability? Being R0 out of the box alone won't give this would it?

As this had a release date of around 2005 (and i'm pretty sure my ex manager bought one for about £50 from the warehouse I used to work at) i'd say it DOESN'T support Divx at all. As far as I know the Alba group never made a Divx player (apart from maybe 7" portables, oh and that Goodmans PVR thing ;-)).
#37
Anyway, just for fun, who thinks this is a misprice:thinking:

Somehow, considering the price of cheapo 5.1 systems and £6.50 dvd players at Tesco I think not:whistling: :giggle:

Any thoughts?
#38
Says WEB ONLY on my order confirmation, so who knows?
#39
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned, but if you search Dixon site for Home Theatre, this bit of kit is top of the list at £19.99, and then appears again 2 rows down at £99.99.
just seen that post #5 mentions this

Dixons do that a lot, don't bother to remove the old price. Lazy gits ;-)
