The plot thickens further here:

Possibly just the same with different badges.

It's called badge engineering. BMC/BL were masters at it - look where it got them!
#10
wish it were region free
#11
both bush and wharfedale are owned by argos so the specs will be the same just a different badge.

Region Code: Region 2: Europe, Japan from Item Specifics in eBay

Not sure if there are any ways to make it region free .....
#13
verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry HOT.... from a reputable seller....
you can expect to pay this much for a standard SD card photoframe........ But this one has DVD player capability....
AND 2.5hr battery life!
#14
Hmm... whether to get this at 'clearance' fleebay price from Argos, or brand new from one of Amazon's sellers....
#15
Ordered one last week and have to say a very good little tablet DVD player.
#16
Very tempting. I wonder if there's any way around the battery life, though - 2.5 hrs isn't great. Would buying a spare battery be an option?
#17
I got one. It's a steal at this price to be honest - definitely handy to use whilst travelling, or even to keep kids quiet (providing they don't bang it against anything!)
#18
Just to add, does anyone know of a good protective case for this?
Thanks
#19
Does anybody know if this has AV In (use it as a screen)

looks to be the same size as a 10inch netbook, of which there are millions of so therefore hopefuly millions of cases!
#21
SD card reader supporting MP3 music, JPEG picture, MPEG 2 video.

interesting! quite a small res so you could fit quite e few movie on an sd card

reveiws say no divx but so what? encoding to mpeg 2 is no problem.
#22
great bargain!
#23
This looks like a great deal , but can it be attached to the headrest??

Some pretty good reviews. I've seen one of these before and if you're used to a 'photo frame' size screen you're in for a shock -cos these seem massive in comparison.

My Grandad has a similar Maplin model next to his PC and has his Freeview and front door CCTV going into his. OK, more MFI than MI5 but it does the job :-D

For in-car, anything like this will work cos those in-car case have straps to hold the unit. Have a look in your local Maplin or Halfords.

Argos's eBay store is an excellent shop IME.

No this does not have AV in only outputs.

If anyone knows if a spare battery or similar would be an option with these, though, that would be great
#32
I took delivery of one two weeks ago, (I paid £39.99 + del)fantastic piece of kit. Only gripe you cannot charge whilst you watch.
#33
#34
ordered. worth the price just need a protection case so kid does not spoil it.

a good un then,,,:w00t:

low on a photoframe but 234 pixel height is pretty much standard on dvd players costing 2-3 times this.
for movies that width will mean no letterboxing but more than likely black bars at sides - may decrease usablility for movies to ~7inch equivalent or so due to screen 'lost'
still - great price
#36
Does it come with a car charger/battery eliminator? For those long car journeys, if £36 buys me some sanity so I can get on with driving to our holiday destination then bring it on.
#37
does it take a 12v car charger?
#38
Ive found a car charger on ebay for a tenner.
Dont know if I can post links so just search the model number.
#39
I bought this for my 4 year old daughter in Xmas Sales and it has been great for many a long journey. I bought it in Argos and came with in car charger however cannot be mounted in the car but daughter holds it and so far has been ok. Also we have it plugged into her tv in bedroom so she can watch her dvds on a weekend when she goes to bed, No complaints about it other than how many times can one listen to Peppa Pig in a confined space.

That must be one of the lowest res LCD screens ever. It's only 2 pixels /mm vertically = 50dpi.
