Yeah and thanks for posting it .. Not having a go .. Just pointing out morrisons are about £5 dearer on these 5 items than aldi for when the deal is finished .

Aldi's wonderful prices (approximate)
£2.78 450g minced beef
£2.49 pork loin steaks
£3.10 diced stewing beef
£1.00 approx sausages
Total £9.37 approx
that leaves £0.63 for 800g boneless pork shoulder joint << not going to happen

Obviously I can't speak for every store but I work on the butcher's counter at Morrisons and I think we have excellent quality meat. I always buy my meat from there, I look at some of the prepackaged meat other supermarkets are selling sometimes and I'd be ashamed if I'd prepared it. I have the advantage of knowing exactly what I've prepared of course, but it's usually quite obvious whether the person behind the counter knows their stuff or not and we should be happy to help.

Oh and for the record the packs are good value, but they're a pain in the a*se to make up so damn you for bringing them to attention tc :-p

You could buy all this seperately for probably less

Priced it all up and individually, it would be around £5 more.

Our local butcher has a brand new 7 series BWW , just replaced his 2 year old Jag, he doesn't put prices on the items just on a wee list with type so small you need your glasses and a magnifying glass. The prices are not much higher than most of the butchers shops in the area. Supermarket deals are a lot cheaper and in the case of Morrisons you usually get a decent Butchers counter

Yes your diced beef alone is £4.15, boneless pork joint around £3, and 4 pork loin steaks are £3.29. So basically you're paying for those and get the sausages and minced beef for free. Even buying using the 3 for £10 deal you've still got to buy the remaining 2 items, therefore spending more than £10.

Must admit my local butcher is awesome and despite quoting aldi , I tend to use local much more .. Dry cure bacon is much cheaper and does venison fillet for about £7 a kg plus keeping a few local lads in a job .

This is true but not wholly reliant on selling quality rather than quantity and not as vulnerable plus the local butchers been there a lot longer .. Just try to support local independent guys .. And most stuff is a bit more tbh.

And I used "approximate"

I will amend my prices/comment when you post those or any other deals

I dont mind paying a profit but I know what wholesale meat prices are as I know someone in that end of the trade (though we now live 100s miles apart unfortunately) and most of your local butchers are making a fortune. Most of the supermarket meats are just as good as butchers at cheaper prices.

Butchers mince from Morrisons typically contains about 5-7% fat... the prices of the Aldi ones you have listed are 20% fat.

The £10 pack is a great deal so thanks for posting :)
