For anyone that has a touring tent/caravan and likes Butlins (or whose children do!) this could be a good deal.

On all other school holiday dates the price per night for touring pitches is £75!

The price outside of school hols is £45 a night which I still think is expensive but I suppose you are benefiting from great facilities.

Butlins Minehead have the May half term dates as May 24th - May 30th so these are priced at £75 per night or £200 for the weekend (£180 midweek Mon-Fri).

From May the 31st which is the bank hol Mon the price drops to the off peak price of £45 per night, or (now heres the bargain) £65 for a midweek break . If you wanted the Monday to Sunday it's £65 for the midweek and £75 for the weekend so £140 for seven nights . Even better if you've stayed before you can get 15% off these prices if you book before Feb 19th making a weeks stay £119 for up to six people. This price includes fun passes.

Could be a cheap way for a large family to stay at Butlins during a peak week. Just cross your fingers for good weather!

As far as I know there is no website for the touring facility. I received the rates and a booking form in the post. The tel/email for booking or info is 01643 [email protected]

Just to note I have never stayed on the touring site. I registered on the mailing list when we bought our caravan in Aug 2008 and now receive offers as if i'm a previous customer. Might be worth adding your name too if you're thinking of booking. If you do it prior to booking they may see you as a previous customer and you might get the extra 15% off. Worth a try anyway : )

Sorry, did you say SEVENTY FIVE POUNDS for a single night's touring pitch? BWAHAHAHAHAHAA,
#2
You can get gold accomodation with dinner/breakfast for that price!
#3
Yeah definite misprice...... Normally a tenner a night, or at least it should be!
#4
who the **** pays £75 a night for a touring pitch??
#5
remember the forthcoming attractions:
Miss Frank & Faces of Disco
Rachel Adedeji & Stavros Flatley
#6
£75 a night to park in a field?

Wanna buy some shares in a Nigerian Diamond Mine by any chance? You can pay by Western Union if you like........

;-)

thought was £65.00 a week that might been a deal but a night

cold as ur going to be sat in that field in your tin can
#8
Just booked a 8 berth static caravan for a week in mid July for £425, which is similar to the price here of taking your own caravan?

Did anyone actually read the post? It's £65 for a midweek (£55.25 with discount) or £140 (£119 with 15% discount) for a week. I'd rather be sat in a tin can or under a bit of canvas for that matter than any grade of so called 'accomodation at Butlins!

Yes if anyone had bothered to read the post properly before all the comments they'd have realised its actually a great deal considering its the week the kids are off school (well the Kids in Wales are anyway). We bought our 'tin can' last year, had loads of inexpensive holidays in it, many more than we would have otherwise, and cant wait to start using it again this year. If you can afford holiday's abroad or pay for accommodation then fine, but for those of us who cant this is an excellent alternative the kids love it! HOT!!!

p.s. thanks, just e-mailed them to register and might give them a call tomorrow to check the rates (after speaking with hubby).
#12
Thank you :) and no problem - have fun if you go. The facilities are great for kids but I wouldn't stay in one of the 'apartments' again if you paid me! Will watch the dates for next year closely and hope they get it wrong again! (P.S holiday for most schools in London too that week)

No it's not. Try reading the post rather than other peoples comments and you'd see the price for a weeks touring is between £119 and £140.

It wasn't £65 for a night or for a week. Perhaps you shouldn't vote until you can read properly : )

From the original post
so these are priced at £75 per night or £200 for the weekend
. Their 'normal' prices are an unbelievably bad joke, this offer is only marginally less so. Personally, I'm staggered it's only minus 75 - I had this tipped for freeze of the month...

Thank you again, I e-mailed them via another camping info site (for some reason the e-mail supplied here bounced back) and they are sending me pricing info in the post - if it comes through with the mis-print still then we'll probably book. The sites near where we live charge from £17-22 per night, mos of which only have a club-house, no swimming pool etc. So this cant be a bad price, long as its still available to me lol :)
#17
Fingers crossed. Hope you get the extra 15% off too. Would you mind posting a review on the thread or via pm - I don't know anyone that's stayed there so any feedback would be great :)

Your maths is obviously at the same level as jonnye's reading. £119 for 7 nights as opposed to the correct 7 night peak price of £380. Rather a large 'margin'...

:x looks like they have fixed it. My paperwork only came through today with details and now its showing at the expensive price from May 24th to 6th June, dropping from 7th June :( Looks like they did a re-print before sending out to me. Never mind, thanks anyway!

They've fixed it? What, they've put the prices down to a tenner a night, you mean, so the 'deal' actually offers reasonable value? Great!

You have totally confused me :?

What i'm trying to say is that they have corrected the dates so that now it costs over £170 for a mid-week break during 1/2 term, and the following week when the kids go back its a lot cheaper.
They obviously mis-printed the dates and have now fixed them before sending out any mailings.
Was a fab deal, gutted I missed out, but hey ho :)

romfordian - you obviously didnt understand the deal that was posted originally regardless that people told you to re-read it. The prices quoted (mis-print) were for 4 nights midweek or 3 nights weekend NOT per-night. Have a look!

Get it now? Not that it matters because its not been fixed. But the OP was very misunderstood and they were actually sharing a fab deal!

If you think those prices are expensive for pitching a Touring Caravan during the school hols with all the entrainment etc thrown in then you obviously dont know the prices that are charged generally at most campsites.

Oh for the love of God... Yes, everyone reading the thread 'got it'. We saw that there was a 'misprice' over May Bank Holiday. What everyone was pointing out was - regardless of the fact that it was cheaper, it was still a very very long way from cheap.

By the way, your caravan's enormous. Try a proper little caravan like mine in the avatar :whistling:

For anyone wishing to stay at Butlins, in their caravan, during the school hols it WAS cheap, otherwise they'd have been paying a LOT more, thus this deal could have saved some people a lot of money. As it is, now that they have fixed the mis-print, it costs as much to say for 4 nights during the holidays as the deal above was showing for a whole week, 7 nights. So how could it not have been cheap? :?

Try looking up the difference between 'cheap' and 'cheaper'. Sorry if that's too difficult.
