"Cherry pick" and you should be able to get a bargain or three, I picked up a few of the shrub Buddleja Davidii better known as the Butterfly Bush for obvious reasons.

Also have stuff like blackberry, blueberry etc. Not tried any of these buy have had some of the 'tree in a bag' things from other stores with varying levels of success so these should be fine too.

Be aware these plants are very invasive and grow very fast (which is why they're sold cheap). We've had one for many years and have to hack it right back every year or it would take over the place. So fas as attracting butterflies go: none at all, a complete bust!

I bought some rose bushes and they're growing really fast - they're still in the box on top of the fridge.

They do grow like mad! The little bushes grow into woody trees very quickly and have to be kept under control if you don't want them to take over.

Buddleia ONLY flowers on old wood grown the previous year, so if you prune it, NO FLOWERS! As a foliage bush it is pretty hopeless, so without the flowering it is a dead loss.

When they do flower, they don't half mark your car, so look out if it is overhanging too.

Weeds! :-(
