Went into the local Lidl today to get my normal 8 pack of non branded 500ml water for 99p, then saw that they were selling Buxton Water for this price

I bought 24 x 1.5L bottles for £6.96

Probably cost £1 each everywhere else

Not sure if nationwide but if you go online you can enter your postcode and click on Sensational Deals and have a look through

#2
yeah i couldn't believe it when I saw it

Trick is on the site it just says "Buxton Still Mineral Water" until you click on it then you get the vital info:

* Description

* 1.5L
* 1.9p/100ml

Tap water is considerably cheaper! I know some places have awful water, but people will buy bottled air next.

yeah i don't fancy drinking the water at work, comes in handy as got rid of most water machines now

I'm thinking of introducing some new lines of bottled water to the market. I'd appreciate your views before I take my ideas to the 'Dragons':

"Vegetable Water", also know as "Eau de Cuisine" - comes in handy 2 litre bottles. The perfect blend of pure filtered reservoir water with just a hint of minerals and added sodium chloride. PH balanced to ensure your spuds are perfectly seasoned every time without the drudgery of having to add salt to your tap water and worry about getting it 'just right'. RRP under £3!

'Loo Water' (not to be confused with 'toilet water'; this is much purer and odour free) - comes in handy 5 gallon bottles to rinse the loo after every use; saves you from having to flush it. Up to 2 'flushes' per bottle and RRP under a fiver too! I think this one will be perfect for BOGOF promotions. Maybe a later product extension into 'number 1', number 2' and the 50% extra free 'Big Dump', so you can customise your flush to the precise circumstances.

'Lawn Water' - comes in handy 50 gallon bottles to pour on your garden; saves you from having to get the hose out. Works on cars too! Comes complete with a wheeled 'single use' trolley to help you drag it back from the supermarket. RRP around £30, but you know you're worth it! May consider product extension into handy 250 gallon powered 4 wheeler 'limited edition' product (always available) for the larger garden or 3 car household. I'll market a special pump too (manual and electric versions) so you can spray it evenly on your lawn/car without the worry of under or over watering.

I'll make sure they are on 'special offer' somewhere at all times and my marketing agency will design some fancy bottles and labels to ensure these become 'must have' 'designer' products you'll be proud to show the neighbours. Maybe a foreign sounding brand name too (any ideas people?). Will be 'as seen on TV' of course and everyone in the soaps and Heat magazine will be using them. The council will put on extra recycling trucks so you won't need to worry about the empties. You'll soon be wondering how you ever lived without them. At a later stage I'll introduce lighter weight, aircraft friendly, 'concentrated' versions for the traveller. Will come in disposable sachets and you'll simply dilute with tap water on arrival. Genius!

Can I count you in as a customer then?

PS At least this stuff hasn't be shipped over from France!

you could always get some compressed air in a can (about £5) but sadly that is more expensive than regular air.

Filling up a bottle from your tap is cheaper and more eco friendly.
Buying bottled water is just snobbery...

I presume buyers will be popping round the corner in their 4x4 Range Rover/Shogun/Cayenne to get some.

I love the way some people react on here to certain deals. It's like a competition to see who can come out with the biggest overreaction to cheap bottled water.

Al Qaeda got it all wrong, if you want to strike at the West, don't engage in acts of terror, just release some 30% off Littlewoods codes and watch society crumble.

This is hot and shouldn't be expired. Sometimes you have to buy bottled water if you're out and don't have access to a tap, I don't know of anyone who buys bottled water to drink in their own home but at this price I suppose it's not that bad. Personally I use a water filter because I can taste the difference between filtered and non-filtered (although it may just be a placebo effect, I don't know) although I suppose water quality and taste differs around the country.

P.S. Good to stock up on this for the inevitable nuclear/swine flu/zombie/snow holocaust

:-D very good. It's not just bottled water though, people go crazy on here if you post a deal for a Blu Ray player or if one minor detail of the description is wrong you are in for it! It's a bit sad really.

last time they had an offer was 20p per bottle. bought loads.
#15
the 6 packs are half price at tesco £1.48, so just under 25p a bottle

You're tripping if you think anywhere halfway decent would be selling 1.5l for £1. It's a decent enough deal but no need to dress it up with inflated RRP.

Okay maybe not a £1 but its def in the 50p-90p region. Local Tesco express near me all there water for 500ml-1l is in that price range

They reply on people walking in and getting the smaller bottles as there easy to carry rather than getting a 6 x 1.5L multipack
