Handcrafted, as not out of vending machine?
I handcraft my cup of tea everytime I tip the kettle into my cup.

handcrafted? Overpriced would be a better word to describe their beverages.

overpriced crap, why people go to these coffee shops and pay £10 for a sandwich and a coffee is beyond me!

Hand crafted my ****!

pretty clever as usual from them, not that many people tend to go in 3s, especially somewhere like sb's so you pay 8-10 quid for 3 cofffees (which cost all of a few pence to actually make), 1 of which is no use, perhaps you can pass it on to the homeless chap settled outside.

It's not about the coffee, nor the sandwiches but about getting out of the cold / away from the hustling masses!

Stupid comment.
Many people who are wealthy would not go to Startbucks. They have nothing to prove and don't need to show off and buy overpriced coffee. They prefer to show off by buying a Porsche than overpriced coffee that has 10 minutes show off factor to paupers.

When would you stop buying Starbucks coffee? £5 a cup, £10 a cup? What is the price point when you decide it is not worth it? Is it you will pay even £100 a cup?

Personally I buy coffee when I'm thirsty, cold or footweary not to impress people (Seriously you are saying people go to starbucks to show they can afford to?). Often it's a good place to meet a seldom seen friend if you don't want to drink. I do see it as a once a month sort of treat but I don't feel the need to castigate people who go daily, nor conversely laugh at those who never go.

Wow, I must be really emotionally unintelligent here but I have absolutely no idea that there are "starbucks people" or "anti-starbucks reverse-snobs".

If I'm in town and fancy a coffee I will go to a coffee shop. I prefer local small businesses, but failing that, Costa or Starbucks is great! Add a sandwich or a cake with my coffee and I get to put my feet up in the warm with a nice cup of coffee. Perfect.

In any case, if you have a starbucks card you can get filter coffees for £1 - excellent value for fresh coffee in the warm for a few minutes while you rest your legs.
