Goods and this assumes the 128mb card is knocked down, AND your machine lets you have the same voucher.. so likely to be less than 100% availability as the vouchers can vary from store to store, and card to card, and not everywhere is going to have £3 cards in.
#6
not many, 128 cards stoped selling about 3 yrs back

on a 9 megapixel camera you can save around 40 pics

Depends on resolution. Around 100 at a reasonably low but acceptable resolution. Less if your into RAW/ using a high mp cam.

To give a very rough indication (allowing for complexity of scene, colours and camera compression algorithm within 10%)
you should get
142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 38 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera

Interesting to see how this deal develops, can't be bothered myself but can see some people trying to buy an XBOX 360 with 40% off if you buy enough of these cards and have enough vouchers, won't be enough of these memory cards about I suspect, lol.

The essence of a good deal is that it's repeatable e.g. more than one person can take advantage.

Your post fails to meet that single princple. Specifically, you state that "The Boots ACM Machine this morning" - what makes anyone else confident that they can make the ACM machine give the same voucher again.

I would further suggest that the ACM machine issues vouchers based on shopping profiles and not blind principles of printing the same voucher to every Tom, Dick & Harry.
#11
Would it not be best to give them the benefit of the doubt until others can confirm?

Its a hot deal (until its has been proven its not!)

Thanks, At last someone recognises i'm special. To be the only Boots Advantage Card holder in the country to be issued with this voucher... wow!! :-D
Oh, btw the machine also issued me with a 1000 point voucher (£10) with any Fuji digital camera - good job i didn't post that as well.
#13
Thanks for the info.
#14
Not bad! I'll certainly go for this if they have any cards left in my local. Thanks OP! Voted hot :)
#15

#16
Voted hot.

Not took advantage of this deal but I would have if I went

Ok not everyone gets the same advantage card offers:? So what??

I'd rather know the offer existed for some in the hope I got the same great offers, would you rather it didn't get posted at all sicknote?

Thanks again to to OP

Ahem, someone on MSE has reported this offer has also worked for them.
Fact.
So i guess this thread DOES have the essence of a good deal.

Care to retract the above?

I don't understand negative, unproven posts, surely that's not the essence of this forum?

Don't have a boots account but this is a fantastic deal if it comes off

Virtual free money can never be a bad thing if you use boots to get stuff anyway

Surprisingly enough voted HOT

Putting my post where my mouth is; I'll test the availability of this deal myself today, I'll use the very large Boots in Reading shopping arcade. I

f I can repeat this deal then yes I'll retract my initial statment about it not being an deal.

Ah, you're contradicting yourself now

So what you meant to say is "The essence of a good deal is that it's available to you" If it isn't, though available to others, then it's a bad deal?"

Good post.
With HDUK (and MSE) once a good deal is posted the hot item usually will sell out fast. People are willing to take their chances and sometimes we are lucky, sometimes not. On the basis that you are not - does that make it any less of a hot deal for every one else.

I've voted hot, as I feel it is worthy.

Definitely worth a hot vote - got the same offer when I went into my local Boots. Sadly none of the 128Mb cards in stock....
#27
Cheers OP, Bagged myself one at luchtime. Well, sort of. The 128mb was out of stock, so got a 256mb one for £6.99 - £5 = £1.99. I know these capacity cards are not worth diddly, but I needed one for my Mums digital photo frame to keep my 4gb card free (image size is tiny, so fits hundreds and hundreds on 256mb.)

Boots in Southampton(City Centre) have Dane-Elec 512mb Sd cards to clear at £4.99. Got one at lunchtime.

Did you by chance, notice if they still had any fcuk products on clearance?

Did indeed have a voucher, though the young lady at the checkout seemed shocked it went through. Sorry only really looked upstairs in the Photo section.

No probs,
sent you a pm about a couple of local Tesco Home Plus bargains I recently spotted

Went in to boots this lunchtime and bagged myself one for £6.99! My local store hadn't heard of any being sold at £3.00! As the posting said, you get the 500 extra points and 30 FREE digital photographs developed on the 24hr service! This has to be used within 6 months of purchasing the memory card although it doesn't say you have to retain a receipt so how are they to know! To save even more money I used my credit card with a cashback service so saved loads in total !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried it today and sure enough I got this voucher, so I think everyone does - I've never bought any photographic items from Boots so it can't be that.

Cheapest memory card they had was an own-brander 256Mb for £6.99, so I didn't bother, but still a good deal - I was only in a little branch, a bigger one may have had the cheaper smaller-capacity cards.

Perhaps those who made the comments at the beginning of the thread should have reserved judgement until today when lots of people had chance to try it out before confidently asserting it would apply to nobody but the original poster before all the cold votes came out.

People are a wee bit too trigger-happy on that cold button for my liking - use it sparingly, leave a reason - and make sure it's a reason you're actually sure of!

I had a look in a larger Boots today and noticed the Advantage Card voucher was valid until 3rd July 2007 unlike the usual today only. The cheapest cards they had were the £6.99 256Mb SDs but I will probably look around some other local Boots stores.

Even then it's a decent deal as £1.99 for 30 in-store digital photos and an SD card (which may be useful for my poor battery life SD/MMC reader/MP3 player). May also be people confused about uploading photos to online printing services.

I notice the 500 points voucher itself says 1 coupon per transaction so I wonder if you can repeat the offer (more useful if you find ones that cost less than £5). I'll probably be paying for it using High Street Gift Vouchers that I got for 8% off via my union. Even better.

Good find/highlighting saintscouple.

I went back today and printed off another voucher (still valid until 3rd July 2007) while buying a 256Mb card (no cards in the clearance area).

Both the 500 points and the 30 free 6x4 photos coupons are one per transaction so should be able to be repeated on as many separate occasions as you like. Now that I have enough points to do so, I will probably see if I can still get the bonus if paying using points. (Edit: No, sadly not).
