Will someone please let me know if this is a good price, or am I better of waiting for deals in the new year???

Its not a bad price if you don't have an xbox already and you can trade cd2 and fm3 in for about £16 @ cex bringing price down abit more. Its hard to say what deals will be about in the january sales or xmas time if you can hold off till then I would. I think its a good deal but wait and see if it gets hot before purchasing. Don't take just 1 persons word for it.

As always with Amazon, it won't let you have them at that price when you put them in your basket.

I'd say its a good shout, I can trade my old elite on ebay for about £120, plus fallout vegas is going for £30 and the other 2x games hopefully £10 each see's this upgrade costing me a figure of £30ish, reasonable to be able to hear myself think over the damn noise of the standard 360! :)

Thanks OP!

Will the price not go up a bit in January, with the VAT rise?

please excuse my ignorance but i know nothing about gaming stuff...my 7 years old son just getting fed up with the Wii and asking for x box..I have two questions please
1- what is the difference between all the types of x box? i noticed that there is a new 4 GB one which is quite expensive if you think that for £200 you cna get a 250Gb one!!! I can not understand that

2- What would you need the hard drive for? and is it a matter of bigger drive is better?
1 Like #9
The harddrive is essentially for storage space, something the WII lacks more-a-less completely.

It can be used to store game content (as in extra downloads, map packs, songs), films, music, so generally bigger is better. 4GB isn't alot of space and I'd say is geared at the casual xbox user. Mine gets used for quite a few other things as well (sky player etc)

I'm in same position as you, for my 8 yr old son, & I've come to the conclusion that the 250gb is the way to go (& I'm a cheapskate!!), when I see the old consoles were 120gb, & the new ones are either 4gb! or 250, I don't want to have to replace it. cheapest price I've seen on its own is £185, so this seems a good deal for 3 games as well

now I can't decide between MOH or FIFA!

aaahhh missed out cause now Forza is OOS :(

Thanks m00bs- this is a great deal that's going to help a fair few new adopters out. We've featured this deal on Dealspwn, HUKD's gaming blog.

It's back in stock now. The deal works out to £209 though, rather than £204, but still a great deal if you can get it before one of the free games goes out of stock again.
#15
its still advertised on the website but think because forza is sold out again it's not working
#16
Forza out of stock, buga!
#17
To confirm it did work for £204, I got this for my old man, I added Fallout New Vegas for a tenner, he gave me £200, therefore I got New Vegas for £4 Bargain :)

The 4gb xbox gives you the option to split cost as you can buy the hard drive seperatley at a later date.

As you rightly point out it is worth having the hard drive space for game saves and installs, downloadable content and movies etc. but also some multiplayer games will require you to have a hard drive to play online.

You have to go via the xbox bundle page. That's where they spell out the instructions. The link to the deal should take you straight there.

I cant see Amazon running out of stock, if you are interested might be worth a quick phone call or email.

Hot deal. Ordered last night. seems to have gone up £10 now it was £189 last night.
#40
Do not buy this!! Highly unlikely that you will get it for christmas!! I did this deal when it was £204 in total (Console was £194) They estimated delivery date of between 8th and 10th November for the console, 5th November for all other items. The items duly arrived on 5th November and I have today received an Email from Amazon telling me that the console delivery date has been put back to between 8th and 17th December!! Amazon have already taken £62 out of my bank account for items received to date, even though as part of the order they would ultimately have cost me £10!!!!
Needless to say I have cancelled the order as there is no guarantee that the console will arrive by the revised dates and it is too close to Christmas to take the risk. I will now have to return all items to amazon and their terms and conditions state that refunds will be given within 30 days, so no guarantee that I will get my £62 back as quickly as they took it!
