Just went into my local station to fill up and noticed a big sign in the window saying the above, i think its tomorrow only so just a one day deal. my local is leeds city centre.

V-POWER is a little more expensive than normal, 4p per litre at my garage.

its a red ferrari cap and a silver key ring.

Good if your putting petrol in any way i suppose. I asked the guy inside and he said everyone was doing the deal so i think it could be nation wide.

I think it was 30 litres minimum but im not sure so maybe just put £10 and get the free goodies.

-edit-

ive added a link to the shell website where you can also get a money off voucher for v-power at shell, maybe can use both at the same time?

Judging by their performance in F1, perhaps Ferrari aren't selling so many caps and have a few spare.

Hot by the way.

4p a litre?!? Man thats cheap!
#5
nationwide>?
#6
Getting on a ferry to France at 00:15 Not happy, i'm gonna miss this deal:x
#7
I know, its normally at least 6p a litre more! but my garage put the price of normal unleaded up by 2p a litre today so its now 99.9p for petrol so they may have also adjusted the price of the v power.

Ferarri have flopped this year lol, in f1 so maybe summat to do with that, but i doubt it.

Also has any one actually noticed the price of petrol has gone high again, its average is over £1 a litre now nationwide!

one good thing though, diesel price is now just 1p/2p more expensive that petrol, when like a few months ago it was 15p more expensive, don't know whats going on with that!

£1.04 a litre in rainy cambridge. well, that was at the garage i passed at 630 this morning, its probably gone up a bit since then
#9

What's the diference?
Is it worth the extra?

Most petrol cars will only get a slight benefit from V-Power, you may get a slight mpg increase but not enough to offset the increase in price. Depends if your car's ECU is clever enough to know a high RON petrol has been put it.

Works best on high powered cars, especially if you have a turbo :). But on something like my RX-8 it makes no difference.
#15
Hot from me! :)
Nice find :)
#16
I was going to post this, I heard from a Shell Employee on Sunday that's happening. Nationwide I believe :)

My Porsche actually states in the manual and on the petrol inlet to put in super unleaded. I did speak to the dealer about this and he said that the engine management system (as you say) adjusts for a lower grade of fuel.

This deal is HOT, even with a 30 litre minimum spend.

If V-power is 4p more expensive, 30 litres will cost £1.20 more. The Ferrari cap and keyring are worth much more than £1.20!

PLUS if you print the £1.00 OFF voucher here: http://www.couponnet.co.uk/CouponWeb/index.aspx

Then effectively you're paying 20p extra for the goodies, in addition to the 'better' fuel.

smithyp1: Shell V-Power is only 99 RON where as BP Ultimate is 102.

If you fancy a drop down in anti-knock rating you may as well go for Tesco Super Unleaded which is also 99 (and quite often a few pence cheaper).

My Fiat actually states in the manual and on the petrol inlet that accepts coins and any small denominations

BP Ultimate is 97 RON

BP Ultimate 102 is 102 RON

They are different fuels, the 102 is about twice the price, and only available on limited forecourts :)

Good deal this, but no shell garage near me, and I always use super unleaded :(

In which case BP Ultimate is definately not worth the extra money :)

My car manual states that I have to use "leaded or premium unleaded with a rating of 98 or more" so that rules out the vast majority of fuels, Tesco 99 being the best match (and the car performs better on it).

Is it for all Shell garage in the UK?

Should I bring anything to claim the free Ferrari cap and key ring? Thank you!
#26
audi cap and keyring in liverpool, tomorroew only when buying vpower
#27
V-power is great stuff, smells nice on boost if you have a high powered car, I've always been into turbo cars, from old Ford RS's, to Subaru Impreza, to Audi s3. I always put Vpower in my cars, but like somebody set your ECU has to be set up for it.
If your wanting power and good MPG get a remap on your car, basically somebody plugs a laptop into the car and sets up your fueling. If you want figures of bhp you'll have to rolling road it.

If your cars an Import i.e Impreza, Evo or Skyline. You HAVE to you high octane fuel, over in Japan there pumps are all 103 RON.
#28
thats not strictly true.
i can run both my evo and skyline on normal unleaded due to the remap they were both given when they came into the UK. Although i choose to run V-power due to the benefits.

BTW is your name Craig W?
#29
Aww just put £20 in my car minutes ago.

@ 108.9 I might add :'( I see the price of fuel is shooting up again. Even Unleaded was 102.9 :-(

I think I managed to fill my car up once when it hit its low of 89.9 a while ago before it began climbing again *sigh*

The free cap/keyring is happening tomorrow, fill up at the station and no voucher needed.

The £1 off voucher is a seperate offer, and is £1 off the fuel bill providing u fill up with at least 30 litres.

gutted still got half a tank in mine! :( can anyone confirm whether there is a minimum spend for this deal and if so how much?

Also anyone in the know.. I drive a Merc CLS 320 cdi. 2 questions...

A. are the benfits as noticeable for diesel cars as they are for petrol?

and B. If I have half a tank of standard diesel in the tank already and mix the 2, will this have any effect what so ever or I am just wasting my money on a silly Ferrari cap ill never wear??
#33
I have tried numerous times with Diesels, and never seen any benefit, only to be told you need to run 2-3 tanks to see any improvement, at 70 ltrs x 5p per ltr difference = £3.50 per tank x 3 = £10.50 then I might see the difference, but will I recoup the 5% difference in cost? or is it just marketing b/s?
#34
Can anyone else print the coupon i cant install the coupon software
#35
Bah filled up just the other day.

EDIT: Oh hold on 30 litres minimum is for the £1 voucher only?
#36
6-7p difference between "normal" Diesel and Shell V-Power Diesel up in Derby....

Worked out that using the voucher for 15 litres made it the same price as supermarket diesel....so I printed 3 vouchers and filled up 15 litres each time at Shell in order to get the V-Power for the sameprice as the standard Sainsbury's...

The woman in the shop did think I was strange, but I told her what I was doing and she thought it was funny!!!
#37
Oh, and there was no 30 litre limit either..... That was at Shell Ockbrook (between the Mazda and Sunwin Garages)..
#38
I use a diesel fuel additive. Its called Millers diesel power sport 4.
Google for it.
It really does make a difference to the engine. It does take 2 - 3 tanks to show its best though.
Now we only use it every other tank, and the cars run lovely. It REALLY helped last year with one of our cars emissions test at MOT time. The year before it nearly failed! Last time it sailed thorough.

This works out much cheaper than buying the premium fuels. We buy the 5Litre bottle.
Cheers, Phil.
#39
I use VPower all the time in my Imported and modded MR2 Turbo. Wont run properly if I put normal stuff in
#40
yeh i always put this vpower stuff in, it makes my car sound like a ferrari and its cheaper than bp ultimate... shell stations also try less to trap you into buying crap coffee like that wild bean cafe thing!! you really will notice the difference.

im going in for my free cap and keyring first thing!!
