Cheap for a reason. These have been ruined with cheaper inferior chocolate.

This "deal" is a perfect example of how big companies like Mondelez can keep shafting consumers.

This offer usually runs at least once every year for the same price (£1 per box).

Except recently, they:
• Reduced the number of eggs per pack from 6 to 5
• Reduced the weight of each egg
• Changed the recipe to use a lower-quality "chocolate"

So while previously you could get 6 semi-decent eggs for £1, now you get 5 lighter, inferior scum-tier eggs for the same price - but because it's a "great deal!" consumers lap it up and vote it up to 1000°!

No wonder these giant companies keep pulling nonsense like this!

This. The Kraft takeover has led to a number of poor decisions, this is probably the worst.

I haven't had a crème egg since they changed the recipe to cheapen the product, and I don't buy Cadburys anymore. A cheap product sold at a high price, or even when that price is dropped a little isn't much of a bargain. (IMHO)

Esso service stations have 2 for £1 in Blackpool just before the M55, not sure if it's nationwide though. amazing how these go down in price months before easter so they can boost the price up in the weeks shortly before easter.

Hehehehe, I've only ever subconsciously thought about this too mind (which is interesting really), some years back I thought it was just me that saw a shift in the tide like that?.

I was like .... !!!

That aside though, it still beats the current deal of these at PoundLand, of 2 Cadburys Eggs for £1.

So 10 for £2 isn't that bad at all really?. :-)

My bad!, then it's changed?.

As it was only 2 for £1 when I was in there only 1 week ago.

Fair enough though ...

Phew! I believe it has something to do with the laws governing retail. A retailer has to sell a product at full price for a set amount of time before the product can be in a promotion. Since they can't just increase the price of a creme egg I think they might put it on promotion now and then before easter it goes up to full price so when the demand is there customers will pay more.

Yep - taste terrible after they changed from Dairy Milk chocolate and I won't be tempted back until they change. ;)

They're horrible since the new US owners changed the recipe. I wouldn't eat them if they were giving them away.

I don't think I've tried one of these since Kraft took over. I'm not too sure it's worth buying the 10 for £2 if they're really as awful as you're all saying they are! :(

Probably still worth 20p each given the rising price of chocolate, as long as you are not too fussy. Personally, I tried the new recipe and decided that if I wanted a cheap chocolate hit I may as well just buy a block of own label cheap chocolate than reward Kraft for ditching the Dairy Milk Crème Egg.

New? Kraft took over in February 2010!
Kraft then split into two companies in 2011 and Cadbury became part of Mondelez.

REMEMBER WHEN these used to be sixpence each in REAL money???? That is 2.5 pence in todays WORTHLESS money.
AND they should be called Mondelez/Kraft Crème eggs because Cadbury was bought out by them and they are like so many of these FOREIGN companies that now own MOST of BRITAINS Industry and Manufacturing, ETC ,Closed factories, Increased Unemployment, INCREASED Prices, creating massive inflation to raise profits ALL going abroad and ALL with our TRUSTED governments encouragement and assistance. Surprised that Europe is not encouraging us more to leave the common market. They probably only want us to stay because we are a nation of suckers and are easy to MILK.
Chill out dude, it's only a creme egg.
Well DONT get so uptite about it there is NOTHING BRITISH these days.
Remember who said
""Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.""
when he tried to take over the world ?
Well TEN companies have just about TAKEN OVER THE WORLD and they are now buying each other out.
Probably the worst one is the one that sells GM seeds that only provide INFERTILE crops so farmers can only BUY MORE instead of saving their own to use next season.
I get the feeling you voted brexit
What has voting brexit got to do with the price of cream eggs :p

Had one at the weekend and straight away I noticed that the chocolate taste/texture was off.

Galaxy or Cadbury Caramel eggs it is!
