We need to be boycotting Cadbury anyway. They're closing the factory near Bristol with the loss of hundreds of jobs and sending the work to Poland. Not only is this forcing people into unemployment but also adding to the already massive amountn of carbon emissions. I would vote cold but I'm a bit worried about it because I've had a telling off for voting cold on deals I think are cold. Go figure!
#9
It's telling that even after distribution costs, chocs will still be cheaper cos labour is cheaper in Poland.

Vote on price/deal only.
You can't vote cold cos you don't like the product or you disagree with Cadburys closing a factory, that's business unfortunately.
9p at ASDA or a measly saving is a good reason.

DJTiredboy, you were not told off for voting deals cold that you thought were cold, but for excessive cold voting.

You can vote cold for whatever reason you choose.

some things you have to vote on the item though if you have had 3 of the same model and know that they break as you can vote on a brand as the brand is the price tag (basing this on electronics btw)

How can cold voting be excessive when in my personal opinion those deals were cold?
#14
Yes you can but to keep the forum integral, you shouldn't just vote because the factory's closing in Bristol.
As mods say in the forum, don't vote if the deal does not interest you.

If the item doesn't interest you, don't vote on it.
If the item is something you might buy but the deal is not great, cold vote it.
#16
In my opionion I can vote cold because they're closing the factory. That, as far as I'm concered is part of a cold deal for the whole of the UK. It's irrelevant anyway because I no longer vote cold on anything for fear of being banned for it.

Who said anything about me not being interested in the items? Certainly not me.

Oh and for the record, this is the quote I received from Edi regarding cold voting:

Dear DJTiredboy,

You have received an infraction at HotUKDeals Forum.

Reason: Code of Conduct Violation
-------
Pls vote fairly all deals... Voting cold on deals without a reason will lead to ban.
-------

This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

All the best,
HotUKDeals Forum

I am not trying to cause an argument, I'm merely pointing out that I have been told that cold voting without a reason goes against the code of conduct and will lead to a ban.

Constant cold voting goes against the code of conduct & is monitored... Try hitting the hot button every now & again & you won't have a problem! :)

It was a general comment about whether or not to vote cold, I don't mean this one.
For example, if La Senza bras were reduced by 25%, don't vold cold cos you don't wear bras.

Does anyone knowwhat a serious infriction is and how many points is it?
How many points until you're banned and for how long as he seems to have 1 point?

As far as I know (I might be wrong) there's a red/yellow card system... Yellow card is a warning, Red card is a ban... If the same person gets warned repeatedly then the length of the ban is increased...

It would be best to discuss this in the "Misc" forum, so I shall no longer post in this thread about this.

PM's should not really be published without prior agreement, it is bad manners.

Like I said, you are voting cold excessively, I think you should think about how many deals you voted hot in the same time period of you voting deals cold.

Boycott Cadbury??? Are you insane???
#25
Well anyway, I've voted hot for the following reasons:

1- I quite like Cadbury's fudge bars
2- If I can get them for a couple of pence cheaper at one place then I will. Out of principle.
3-It doesn't really matter if they are made in Poland nowadays. If what we as British consumers purchase and/or consume and/or use is based purely on where it is manufactured/grown/packaged, then we wouldn't drive a car, wouldn't buy our kids' school uniform or even buy a pint of beer in the pub.In fact, we probably wouldn't even bother going out of the house.
4-Finally, as it has been found to be a product that can be bought cheaper at a certain place then it is a deal- even if you don't like fudge bars. Which I do.

A finger of fudge is just enough to ...........................

Seriously? You'd shop at Tesco ahead of (for example) a local retailer to save a few pence based on PRINCIPLES?!

You obviously don't have principles if that's your attitude to purchasing.
