Cake Carrying Box with handle £1.00 @ Poundland

Bought this yesterday in PoundLand, Sheffield City Centre. Not sure if it's a Nationwide Deal.

Excellent value, not as good quality as the ones you'd buy from a professional cake baking shop, but for a pound brilliant value.

I bake cakes for friends as a hobby & often have trouble getting my cake boxes back, for a pound they can keep it!

Good find. Not sure if I would feel confident enough to hold it by the handle, are the clips really secure enough? Never used one of these...seems like a good idea.

4 a £ I could affordto test it out with heavy non breakable objects b4 trying my cake. This may weaken it though??

What size is it? How big a cake will it hold please? Thx

Can be good to hold many food items not just cakes!

Great deal if you get them in your local store. Deals on HUKD never seem to be in our local store so probably not nationwide.

BTW, You can always hold them underneath the box rather than by the handle if you dont trust how sturdy it is. ;)

It also doubles up as a safety helmet for building sites.

These are excellent. I paid £4.99 for one in Home Bargains!! I use it all the time. Really handy. :D You pay about 90p for a flimsy cardboard box and you can use these for storing all sorts if not transporting cakes about like I do for friends. Hope they have these in my local.

Yeah, the clips are very flimsy. But its fine to carry with your hand underneath

These are usually a small fortune esp in places like Hobbycraft/specialist cake shops. Good find OP!

Can we just agree that everything in Poundland costs a pound and leave it at that?

You see an iphone 4 in there let us know, but is there really any point repeatedly posting £1 items that are worth £1?

Got mine today from manchester arndale.

I love it, thanks op.

There were quite a few left.

Use an existing plastic container upside down - so the underneath of the lid is now the bottom. Ok so it doesn't have a handle but still a good tip!

I have used sweet tins left over from Christmas for this before, especially when the kids need to take cakes into school for something or other. Just remember to label it "This way up"! I usually sellotape around the seal, just to be safe - and to keep kids fingers out.

transporting cakes about like i do for friends? You got quiet a skill set there. You should diversify into drugs and make yourself a packet.

You mean like my son did with the Christmas cake I gave him - he slipped on the ice, dropped the box, the lid came off, cake went rolling down the road and I had to re-ice the blooming thing - luckilly I don't do fancy icing, only snow scenes. :)
