Surely at this price your better off buying infinite warfare legacy edition physically and that way your only paying about £20 ish for infinite warfare.
#11
I thought this couldn't be played without the infinite warfare disc?

That's about £20 too much for that piece of **** game, though.

Seems like it works as long as it's a digital copy.

This is such a bad price in my opinion.

For like 20-25 quid more you can get literally a whole extra game with another multiplayer and zombie mode.

I suppose it depends how interested you are in the new one but seriously man...they are absolutely ripping the **** both Activision and Cd Keys.

Is this confirmed that it actually works without a disc? Has anyone managed to download and play this without the disc?

Yes. I and others bought it when it was first posted on here at £31 and despite everyone being so sure this wouldn't work because "Activision said so", it works 100% without IW (I don't own IW digitally or on disc). Both multiplayer and single player work. It's the full game without being forced to buy the legacy edition. :)

£30 more against the price I paid would have got me IW, sure, but there are many out there that don't want IW, so that £20-£30 can be spent on other things rather than handing it all to Activision. ;)

I did advise people to jump on it when it was £31 before it sold out... People were convinced that it wouldn't work though. :p

But yeah, no way I'd pay that. :)

Would I be able to buy this and use this download and sell my legacy edition? I have used the code for cod 4 that was in the disc version so would the download be separate from the download code from the disc? I'm worried that I buy this code and if it would give me an error.

Having said that though, it may give you an error saying you already own it like on PS+ games. I wouldn't risk it actually.

I would have done the exact same but for the Argos deal. So glad I ended up with IW though for £8 more, the campaign looks decent. I let my friend have a go on multiplayer today and watching it it's just more of the same. Not having multiplayer space levels modelled on the campaign is a huge missed opportunity.

Being able to play multiplayer without an Exo Suit has made me happy they did this remaster. I miss those days...

If the demand is there and people will pay even to save a few quid and not bother with the newer cod then why not? It's win win for a lot of people. I managed to get this yesterday at £31 so I was happy paying that rather than £58-£65

I jumped on it Thursday afternoon, thanks to you and your advice. I was lucky enough to buy the digital Legacy version for £56.99 and then sell the IW code for £31. If you hadn't posted that link to Activision's FAQ I never would have gone for it.

The price has shot up again £44.99

The legacy edition it's all on disk though: you can probably sell it in a few months for £50 as it's not a download code. Just buy it on disk. Infinite warfare single player is really good btw!

When I say it's on disk I thought COD4 would be a code but it isn't. You just need the disc to install it.

Without a doubt, you guys with the Argos glitch got the better deal. The £31 deal was just second best for those that didn't want IW. :D

Totally agree about losing the suits aspect online too. I played the beta and hated it, but playing the remaster really shows up the recent COD games for me. The loadouts aren't overly complicated either, to the point you spend more time faffing with them than with actual gameplay.
Titanfall nails the jumping aspects. Infinity Ward, Treyarch and Sledgehammer need to seriously sort it or remove it, and go back to basics, because it's not helping their games at all. :D

I'm pretty sure COD4 is a code... the game is 40gb alone as it is so wouldn't fit on a disc with IW. Multiple people have said to me they have to use a code and Activision's FAQ states you have to "redownload" the game if you get an early access edition. :)

It's a win-win really. The only losers on this are Activision for not making it available separately on launch. They could have made far more money rather than forcing people to buy IW to play this. Now that profit is going to CDKeys. :D

Hope they remaster MW2, Black ops 1 and Black ops 2 and i'll use this same exploit and then finally I won't ever need another crap futuristic space shooter ever again.

I took the leap of faith and bought the download and it seems like it will work. Its just passed the 10GB stage but I could start the campaign and get to the multiplayer menu. Looks like Infinite Warfare is getting sold lol.

The MW games were when multiplayer was actually fun. I play a lot of games as well as lots on other consoles. I always felt I could jump online in those MW games and play on a level with other players. I don't put the hours in these days, and on that basis you lose most fire fights against people that are ranked up stupidly high very quickly. not down to skill, just down to perks.

Having seen the campaign I think multiplayer levels modelled on that would have been amazing! Instead, we get a reskin of the two previous games. It all makes me wonder which direction they will go in next. I'm usually against remasters that add little to the experience, but the chance to play old school COD makes it worth accepting.

Wow this is now 54.99. Even 39.99 is looking like a bargain now. Anyone who was downvoting should have got this while they could.
