you must buy this if you haven't got it
multiplayer on xbox live is ace
#16
will this not go for really cheap soon since the other 1 is already out?
maybe even platinim (spelling) lol

I am curious whether many of those who've left scathing reviews (all over the internet to be fair) have actually played this, or whether they're just clinging to COD4 and afraid to try something new/slagging it off because of COD3. I thoroughly enjoyed the single player, think there is slightly more skill to multiplayer when you can't just unload a clip and reload straight away as well. I enjoyed playing COD4 on live (haven't played the single player) but really enjoyed WAW.

Good to see it come down in price though, testament to its popularity that's it's been so high for so long

Yeah... kinda hoping it might drop below £20, bought a ton of games lately, getting Xbox at Christmas :whistling:Trying to keep an eye out for a cheaper WaW too, as I bought it full price, and begrudge paying £35 for a game when most others are around <£20 at the moment lol :P

it's price has remained more stable than the dollar, euro, GBP lol
don't see it going any cheaper than this price for a while yet (famous last words)

(it's also the GOTY edition with code for extra maps)

I promise you if you get this & go on XBL on multiplayer, you won't regret the £25 spent
#21
Been looking at the prices on ebay for a second hand copy and they're not much cheaper, so good deal!

Can anyone advise me? I've never played CoD and am tempted to get it, I used to play Counter Strike and I like Rainbow Six Vegas, but I've tried Gears Of War and don't like it much - what are the chances I'll like CoD? (Edited to add: online play will only be secondary to the single player game for me)
#22
I'm starting to hate COD. Why will no-one reduce this old game properly. This is over a year old yet loads of new releases are still cheaper...

Want to enjoy WaW first :P I think the reason most people don't like it is because they're used to CoD 4, the modern weapons, the rapid firing and so on. Don't like going back to WW2 for some reason... So I'll stick with WaW for now, but still going to consider buying this now... More money burned rofl.

it must be the no.1 all format game(overall sales). lots of ppl still want it so why should shops n online stores flog it cheap?

COD's similar to Counter Strike. A lot of running and blasting in the games I've played. Lots of weapons, perks (like power ups but permanent) and very slick, smooth, fast presentation.

I've got the new game, and to me waw in nowhere near as polished as cod4. It doesn't have that finished feeling that cod4 had, where everything felt properly built (including maps with no glitches to get under them) and the whole multiplayer aptomosphere was much more gripping.

I think the main problem is that almost all the maps are huge meaning it's hard to play tactically and results in people adopting the spray and pray method, rather than working out where the enemy might be and how to get them.

Still better than most of the other fps tripe thats around:thumbsup:

CoD4 is more about online play tbh, although the SP is good.
How about Orange Box ? (HL2 + Ep 2 + Portal + Team Fortress) some good SP action there.

voted hot, but I have goten too many games lately am going to pass on this one.

CoD 4 has had more time though to perfect it 100%, I'm sure it had it's share of bugs too lol... Just thought I'd point that out :) And the inability to camp in a spot to annihilate someone will of course peeve those with little skill off :P (Not generalising here folks, I'm sure most of you don't have to stoop to those tactics ;))
#30
This is the lowest price I've ever seen for this game. There's not many games that can hold practically their RRP price for so long.

yeah i know what your saying, I was talking more about search and destroy modes, where the defenders main strategy is to split so 2 attack and the rest get into good spots.
:santa:

Damnit, fine I'm buying it >.< Going to RAC voucher this one though :P

No, not buying yet, I'll wait until next week, see if anyone else follows suit.

True about the map size, i do find myself running around looking for kills (especially on that mountainside one), but i'm not too arsed about how many deaths i get, more about how many kills (probably fall into the catagory you've stated lol)

There are some really satisfying moments on there though, there is an ability to sneak up just depends how much patience you've got

Already got Orange Box, don;t really like Team Fortress though, I've been playing Rainbox Six Vegas and preferred it (but then I've been playing Half-Life on various formats for years). Quite like RS Vegas for playing online too.....

I've resisted the temptation for other deals (Prince of Persia, Fallout, Far Cry etc) as I think CoD might be more my kind of game, think I'll just need to see if I can borrow it first and hopefully it'll still be on offer on play - or even cheaper :whistling:

Thanks:thumbsup:

Got it for £25 when Morrison's had the offer, hot.

Been waiting for this to drop under £20 and it ain't happening.

Without wishing to start a 10 page brawl, is there much difference between the two formats?
#39
Definitely worth it for the multiplayer - the single player is extremely easy and short, so I'd think twice if you don't play games online.
#40
Excellent FREE online play on the PS3, very addictive ranking system. Out of all online FPS on the ps3 I think this still wins
