You also gotta ask yourself
WHY...?
Are Gamestation discounting SOOOO many games specially 360 stuff just now?
Tons of people buy them at £39.99 on week 1 then by week 2 or 3 there HALF PRICE, this also messes up the trade in value of supoosed NEW games!
And iam bewildered that Game (who own gamestation) sell the EXACT SAME GAMES on offer at FULL PRICE??
How are they making a profit on these games, and if they are what kinda mugs have we been for years buying games at £40 a go?
#9
for people who have recently bought the game ill give you tip if you are still under the 14-28 etc days refund policy just buy this game again and take the new game you just bought and return it to get your £40 etc back simple.

Hi guys,

This deal is on, starting tomorrow. Thanks OP!!

Just rang my local Gamestation, he told me it will be half price on all format's plus I can trade my game in I bought a week ago, get a credit note, buy COD 4 again and buy another game!! (Even though it's opened!)

HAPPY DAYS!

Thanks GOLFCHIP, rep left! =)
#13
By the way, they don't give cash back unless it's sealed, if its used but in mint condition, they will give a credit note to buy something else instore for the same value.
#14

It's simple - it's a loss leader. The idea is that they sell the game at cost (or slightly below cost), you rush into store and buy it. Whilst there you also fill your boots on the stuff they have at full price. You remember that you got a great deal with them - so you keep going back to them for games. You tell your friends what a great company they are and what a deal you got - they then go to the store to buy more stuff - and so on.
All this is a hell of a lot cheaper than advertising, reaches more people and had more impact (you remember the company and associate them with good prices, quality etc.)
No great mystery - standard (and very effective) marketing tool these days.

yes thats right you need the recipet and have to be under the refund policy days, i dont no how many days hmv have when you can return an item look at the back of the reciept it usually says there.
#20
They might match the price though.. I wont ring the store I bought it from. I'll ring the one up the road.

you got to also think to your self they dont buy 10 or 100 in bulk they buy in thousands and now game owns gamestation they must buy even more. you think all these retailers arent making a profit no way they make a lot, im pretty sure selling it half price they still make money but not as much.
