Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3) - £29.99 @ Argos

£29.99 @ Argos
Also part of the 2 for £50 deal so if you buy another, this one works out at only £25. Next cheapest anyway is around £39.

Its probably not the game of the year addition with the extra maps, but these can be bought for £7 from the PS network.

Still a good price for a very good game

Or stick it on Ebay, some muppet will probably bid £30 for it.

OMG... How popular it is now ;-)

COLD - I bought the 'Game of the Year' edition online for £34.99 from Game.co.uk (using the £5 off voucher code) + received £3.15 from Quidco.

So for £1.85 more, I'd go for the GOTY edition.

a little off topic but:
If you are a PS3 owner I did notice Vegas 2 for sale in the half price bin in Edinburgh Currys Digital, so it was down to about £12.50, which is an ace price for an ace game. Currys often has 'half price' deals which are on par with good deals in other stores, but I thought that was pretty good. I don't have a PS3, but it was fun on the xbox

the game is worth 50 quid but who on this bargain site would pay 50 quid ?
#11
While it's a very good game, I also think it is very much overrated. And I'm coming from the PC edition which is the best that can be bought.

BF:BC is a lot more versatile for instance.

the game is still popular and rightly so thats why it can still hold its price, same as the wii for example and loads of things in general, nobody is going to price cut something to 20 quid when they know people are still willing to pay £40

Is it better to get the Game of the Year edition?

Only if you're likely to be playing online, as the only difference is that the GOTY edition includes a code that you can redeem via PSN (or XBox Live if you were buying the 360 version) to download the new map pack which normally costs you £7.

If you're only ever likely to play the single-player game I'd stick with the regular version as it's likely to be cheaper.

QFT. Single player was the best bit tbh and that was criminally short. I had on PC as well.

Get Battlefield Bad Company! Can be gotten for £28 and IMO is a much better game.

This can only be done justice on PC. It deserves a mouse and keyboard, it really does. Great game - if you are a console only user then, for you, I'll vote hot.

But it's no where near as good as the PC version.............:p
#20
It's also £29.99 on 360 or 2 for £45
#21
I wonder if you can use a mouse and keyboard on the ps3 version like UT3.
#22
looks like they are making way for COD5

Nice find, heat added.

How did you manage that on a '2 for £50' offer?

Can you post a copy of your receipt as confirmation?

Agreed PC game is the only way to go and is a great game (very addictive). PS3 just to fiddly with a controller.
Hot price though.

It's 2 for £45 for the xbox 360 version.

Hi guys/gals, Just thought I'd share my experience of this offer at my local Argos (Selby). Decided I would get 2 copies of Cod4 as we have 2 Ps3's online.
When I got to my local store today I asked if I could view it first as I wanted to check it was the game of the year edition. Woman at the till said they could only send one down for me to look at so I said fair enough as long as the second copy was the same game of the year edition.
Anyway I checked and it was the game of the year edition so I thought great! I promptly asked for the second copy as well which was the game of the year edition also.

However as I often find with my local Argos things never go smoothly, the young lad put them through the till and asked for £59.98 I replied "It should be £50.00 according to your offer" he checked the catalogue and agreed but muttered something like"not sure the till will let 2 of the same game go through".
At this point he asked the "dragon" AKA Store manager what he should do and was told he could not do it as the deal is for 2 different games. I pointed out that there Promotion states ANY two £29.99 games for £50 with no such reference that it had to be 2 different games, the store manager repeated herself so I told them to forget it and came back home.

I rang Argos customer services from home and told them of my woes and fortunately got through to a nice lass whom took my number and said she would ring back. Ten minutes later she rang me back with an apology on behalf of my local store and give me a reservation number to pick 2 copies of call of duty 4 GOTY up for the total sum of £50.00.

The look of the sheepish store manager when I collected was priceless! Thought I would share this in case it should happen to anyone else, Don't be fobbed off.

Cheers!
