Just a heads up really for folk like me who found Black Ops a bit "Hmmmm". Can trade in at any Argos store, (may need to bring in address identification).

Personally I bought the game for £28 (Sainsburys deal), traded it in today and purchased £50 itunes vouchers for an extra £3, so to me this was a hot deal.

Good game, but not great and a bit dull to me once Single player was completed and multiplayer is the same old thing.

May get voted cold as not buying something directly, but may help some out there.

Other alternatives are trade in at HMV (for £35 store credit), and CEX for £33 cash.

you forgot to mention the trade in price £36.00 @ CEX. also more veriety of stuff to get there :)

and if CEX give £36 the gamestation may beat it by a pound

Yep 29 is probably too old, look at Kate Middleton, she is 28 and is marrying the King of England.

surely this is hot, if you got from sainsburys at £27 and then trade in thats a £10 profit.

kicking myself for not getting when i purchased a ps3 at 20% off.

£35 at HMV, if anyone wants an alternative. Not as much for it, but some may prefer HMV. Plus you can get that cash, not just on a voucher.
#11
Damn kind of wished I'd bought it and sold it on. Ah well

The first Vietnam level has just sent this game to Argos for me. Such a bad game GRRR.

I thought HMV was for store credit only, If you can get cash then that is a great deal too

I found the Single Player to be quite a chore to play, after the first couple of levels (Castro. meeting Kennedy, the motorbikes were really good) cant believe that the other COD games were as linear as this; just spend much of the game following someone. Some of the boat / helicopter sections were pretty ropey too.

Hill > Barrels > Kick

If there were supposed to be any clues I managed to completely miss them. Incredibly frustrating section.

From HMV

"Can I really get cash for my games?

You sure can. As long as you’ve got two forms of ID with you (one photographic, the other with proof of address), we'll take your unwanted games off you for hard cash. "

I'm taking 4 brand new sealed copies there tomorrow, CEX only give £33!

Black Ops = Meh. Solid 5/10.

Dont think you can ever be too old, gaming is not like years ago, where it was seen as something only geeky kids bothered with. It really is seen like an other means of entertainment these days, like watching a DVD, listening to music etc. (well thats my excuse at 39!)
#26
They (Argos) have a list behind the customer services counter with the games that they will accept and how much they will give u in store credit for them. The same list is on their website too - I think.

P :)

I'm the wrong side of 40 and been playing computer games since catching the bus to the bus station to put all my money in the space invaders machine at the bus station cafe !!!! Never too old :)

Glad to see was of help to some folks, had some great deals on this website.

With regards to HMV, agaiin I think the £35 is for instore credit, they do give cash for games, but usually less than for credit, however I may be wrong and if it is for cash too then that is a cracking deal.

Argos do trade in games at all stores, the value given for selected games is on the website, to be honest, most of the values are not very good (I saw Pro Evo 2011 for £20 trade in, which is decent, but it is to me a really good game this year). The vouchers are valid for 1 year.

With both HMV and Argos, I wonder how much they will be selling the pre-owned versions for ? Must be £40 for it to be worthwhile for them, but who would buy a second hand game for that ?

Had to read a guide for that section. 15 minutes sniping at all comers and thinking "this isn't right - lets just rush the trench ((DEAD)) and then try again.....and again. Grrrrrr

Liking all the mid-life crisis guys popping up here. I am older than Ryan Giggs, and I still like a bit of joystick action.

Just to state that this deal is open to all ages, not just those in their "mid thirties"

:)

Yeah, I kicked the barrels now, I was on that section for about 4 hours (no joke) Do they not test these games before they release them? I played the next level and that clinched it. Going to Argos tomorrow to get some vouchers. I'll just have to wait for another iTunes deal to use them as I think the 2 £25 for £40 deal is expired :(

I`m 41 next month
And loved all the COD series. Allthough they have teething troubles atm

I`ve been into computers and gaming since the VIC-20.

And theres no sign of me stopping anytime soon :p

Got mine and my son`s copy from `Best Buy` for £29.99. So would have been a nice profit.
Heat added.

A difficult game is not a bad game, i did the trench section on veteran without kicking the napalm barrels ande to be honest it werent too hard aslong as you kept on killing and pushing forward. The multiplayer alone aswel as the other game modes easily outweigh any other game currently out including MW2. In terms of longevity this game is worth more than £50. However, heat added as there is profit to be made.
