Just set up an account with Very.co.uk and used two voucher codes - ZZ082 (£25 off) and XV044 (Free postage).

Black Ops is £45 so I got it for just £20! Absolute bargain as it is £40 elsewhere.

You have to sign a credit agreement, but don't have to use any of the credit and you can instead pay via Credit Card.

its stupid everybody votes these colds, if you can't use it, ts. if you can, then its a good deal, dont understand the abuse people get for posting these, the codes are real and if you ARE a new customer, then you can use them and they cant & wont cancel them.

idiots looking to be clever posting the same thing on every very thread
#20
Cold, you have open a credit account with them to purchase.
#21
Apart from the "cold" people, this looks amazing for a PC copy of CoD too. It's £35 at very at the moment, which with this offer would make it around a tenner. Wow!

Now, if one of the cold people present their argument as to why this is no good, I'll listen. But without any stories about why this is cold, I'm thinking it's worth a punt.

Did this for my Black ops order, plus tracked at £3.60 on Quidco.

Only thing is they charge the full amount of £45 first.

Any Idea how long it takes to get the voucher money refunded?

They did? Hmm...that does sound a bit strange. I've just been reading through the credit agreement and I don't think any of it applies to the pc copy I'm looking at. So that's something. But if you have to pay the full amount, this deal isn't going to be great for everyone. My friend being one of them. The whole point was to save money on this now, not somewhere down the line.

If anyone recognises this scenario and knows the fallout from it, please comment! This is not a time to post vague points about "never again", etc. etc.!

You'll be charged full price for one or both as the code is for new customers only, use once.

Maybe you should say WHY instead of allowing people to think this offer is fine when you clearly think it isn't. Help us understand what you mean bcham.

Took just 5 mins to set up account and order for £20 all in.
Fingers crossed, Thanks.

-----I had the same but complained like mad on the phone - they eventually agreed to honor the price, I had to go to theparent company in the end ( can't remember their name) to get agreement

I wish people would learn to stop posting these "deals", how many people have posted this exact "deal" now?
It is a Very code, so it'll always be cold.

I have tried Very once, ordered 3 box sets which were reasonably price, threw on the code and was a happy chap. Next day I had a woman call me up and confirm the prices and that they would be despatched shortly. The next day I get an email saying they were all miss prices and were cancelled.
There was an article going into detail about how Very and these catalogue groups are a load of tosh, but seeing as these "deals" will keep popping up, it's rather pointless.
#34
I wonder if the code is messed up. I signed up as I put CoD in the basket and used the code only to find that it tells me it should only be used on a first order. Strange...this IS my first order. Anyone else had that? Although, someone I know used the code successfully already, so it should work.
#35
ive ordered it.. see if im lucky enough to recieve it

I think a lot of people automatically vote the Very offers cold as a safety measure for other users. These deals are usually for new customers only, and anybody else trying their luck with them is running the risk of being charged full price, and in some cases even more then the RRP. Discount codes are often (usually) only for the individual they are sent to. Anybody else is playing with fire. As to my original point, a lot of users vote these cold as soon as they see them in the hope that other users will avoid the deal, and not fall for ther same thing they did, and lose money.

Quietus is right, it's generally to help people avoid the deal and not get screwed later. For those asking for specifics I'll explain why - and it's the same with orders from Littlewoods as well as Very.

They have an established reputation, and this has happened many times. They take orders at low prices with voucher codes, charge your credit card the low amount and send the item. BUT then at a later date they "realise" their error and, unlike any other retailer I can think of, they then charge your credit card for the remainder of the full price it should have been. It's in their T&Cs.

They also have a history of advertising items very cheaply, getting orders, charging your card at the order time but then emailing to say there's been a mistake, problems with stock, we have to cancel your order - but not refunding the money until much later and sometimes needing chasing to do so. I've had this personally happen with Littlewoods.

So due to their shoddy practice of charging your credit card later and mucking people around with stock, plus making people sign up for a credit account, they're generally hated. Admittedly, I know sometimes people have used voucher codes meant only for new customers when they've placed orders before, they've "bought" the items with the discount only to be charged the full amount later, and you might say fair enough because they shouldn't have used the code. I, and many others, say they shouldn't let you place the order with the discount in the first place.

If you're a new customer then maybe fair enough, go for it. But look at your post, Op - you never said if the 2 codes you used and provided are for new customers only? That's why you're cold.
