Worst game of the COD for the PC made, was never going to be a hit, only did okay because of the success of COD4. Franchise is miles behind in PC gaming now.

AlexGamblin can probably give yu a more detailed answer as Im not so up on it but I am sure I read that the COD series is made with consoles in mind and the PC basically gets a version that's really designed for consoles. Not as much thought is put into the mechanics and how they translate to the PC experience giving you a much more shallow game style. Games that are made for PC then ported to consoles give a more rich experience suited to mouse and keyboard gaming.

no lag what so ever online gameplay is smooth as butter.this game my most played fps ever. :)

It is still worth getting this game just for the experience but I still don't see 20 pound as a good "sale" price by Steam. Tight gits.

Yeah, don't expect a good ping (not that you can actually see your ping because they replaced it with just a green bar probably because the pings were so atrocious) and it will often pause the entire game for up to a minute or two while it searches for a new host (because the host is little Jimmy on his mummy's PC and she wants to play Foxy Bingo). Incredibly frustrating. I played it during the free weekend and that was more than enough.

Also lack of servers means lack of clans and lack of community and no regulars (you can kind of cobble together a bunch of people and travel between host PCs like a band of nomadic warriors, but frankly life is too short). Also no admins so no kicking/banning of cheaters, TWers and other gimps.

I hear the singleplayer is ridiculously short too: something like 4 hours.

£20 is a complete joke.

Yes, the lag can be there and yes the campaign is very, very short. However, it can still be a fun game. I also played the free weekend a while back and thought it was rubbish, then, on a whim, I bought it for close to this price. I enjoyed playing it quite a bit right up until Black Ops hit town.

Also, the reason it's not an amazing deal is due to Activision never allowing the CoD games to drop below a certain price point for years. Look at CoD 4 which was £10 on steam the other day. A game that's been out 3 years(?). A stark contrast to something like Batman Arkham Asylum which is only £3.75 after a year of release!

One last thing - you can download the CoD:MW2 config utility which will allow you to check many extra settings, e.g. change the ping bars from 3 to 10! Always a good one as it lets me see who's hosting a match.

Anyway, it's actually better than I thought it to be before I got it close to this price. If you like recent CoD franchise games, go for it.
