be interesting to see if Sainsbury's stick to £26 - i doubt it!
#3
Niceeeee. I used a Very voucher and got it for £23.95. If I never, I would be in there at 12pm on Monday night...I might check what cex is paying...
#4
Sainsbury's is considerably cheaper if it turns out to be true.
#5
Those don't have Sainsbury's in your area - £32 still good price..
#6
This would seem a more sensible price - as Sainsburys is less than half RRP.
#7
Sainsbury's is also not 24hr so you can get it first at Asda at midnight :)
#8
Same price I got it from Tesco pre ordered after staff discount.

they do have some 24 hours stores.

good price, asda is 2 minutes from me and closest sainsburys is 20 miles away. What paper is that? I'll be buying loads tomorrow and hope that tesco or morrisons have it cheaper
#11
I take it that's their's still no confirmation of the Sainsbury's deal? Don't want to drive 12 miles only to waste my time.

Pwned :-D

It makes sense to sell it the cheapest that you can buy it...All you are doing is cutting your profit.
Let's say they buy 10,000 copies, and get them for £20, even if they were to sell them for £25, they would make a £50,000 profit in less than a day, on this one item.
#14
hmm my asda closes as 12 midnight.. think theres any chance they will let me have a copy then?!

Forget it.
#16
Will be off to Sainsburys then, ASDA and gamestation can keep their pre-orders!

Anyone know the best paper to buy to see if there are decent adverts for cod6 in tesco, morrisons etc? I just hope one of them has heared of sainsburys "£26" offer and go lower than 32.

Think you need a recipt or a a statement showing its price. I did this for cod5 with a mate and they told him that the game needed to be in stock for price match, but we knew he was lying.

Probably The Sun and The Mirror at a guess.
#23
I have a really bad feeling Sainsburys will increase there price - probably to match this!
#24
Does anyone know if asda accept luncheon vouchers on 360 games?
#25
Will be going to Asda for this game, Midnight launch plus its closer than Sainsburys for me

Considering the rrp is about £50, they will not have bought it for £20, tbh, id say £32 is probably their cost price at the very lowest guess, but i recon its nearer £36.

It'll be confirmed on Monday, but all signs so far point to £26.

All the in-store advertising has already been printed so the price isn't going to change now. It's £26, I guarantee. Why would they want to raise their price anyway, the idea is to undercut everyone else and raise the profile of the company, not blend in.

Sorry you haven't the foggiest. Theres a lot more than that. Considering asda is owned by walmart they can mass buy so get it at a cheaper price.

Supermarkets are very careful not to get too much into a price war as it cuts too much profit for everyone involved
#29
to the OP, does the advert say it is only for 24 hours?
#30
well in the case of fifa 10 -the supermarkets like asda bought in the units at £25 each, but it was buy 2or3 and get 1 free.
#31
markofkent what paper is that in please

back around 2yrs ago when i work in GAME for a few months i was told they make upto 35% of the RRP on a game so basing that on a £50 game selling for £32 would be cost price or a couple of % profit
#35
Just so people are aware, you won't be able to get PC World to price match if the Asda store is out of stock.

that may be true, but game has got nothing on asda in terms of buying power and number of stores.
#37
Just pulled this label from the system at Tesco.
Seems pricey to me.

I was only giving an example, let's not argue over semantics.

"Supermarkets are very careful not to get too much into a price war as it cuts too much profit for everyone involved"

You mean supermarkets have a conscience? Companies like Walmart are only out to make money. You honestly think that they care about not making too much money so that other supermarkets/competitors can make money on similar or the same items that they sell at their own expense?
Wake up and smell the New World Order coffee! ;-)

That's the point I was making. Even if they only make 2 quid, that's a lot of profit if they sell 2 million copies for a days work on the one item.

Will prob get this in asda then as there are a few 24h ones in my area, my sainsburys closes at10pm and dont fancy my chances getting a copy tuesday morning as I think they will sell out quickly.
