Thanks for the heads up apcody - you can't blame people for being suspicious, there were several threads about Fifa 10 release that were completely wrong and there have already been threads on here with rumours that Morrisons are doing it for £30 and Asda for £27.

EDIT:- actually take this back aparently there isnt a price on this yet however the store has recieved price tags of £26 but they are unsure if this is definatley going to be for COD6

I know your initial reaction will be to vote this cold, and that's perfectly fine, just please read, because I' m not even a little bit interested in heat or rep, I just want to spread the word - and this forum is the most popular, so here goes...

I texted a friend of mine this afternoon, a friend who not only works as Sainsbury's, but is one of the managers there, regarding Modern Warfare 2 and how much it's going to sell for, after I read the rumours of it selling for £26.

Well, tonight while I was out, she texted me back and confirmed that it'll sell for £26. I gave her a quick ring and asked her how she knew and she said she'd seen the promotional material that is set to be put out round the store, and also she'd checked with her manager.

I've known her for years and years, and you can search back through my posts, and I have never, ever BS'ed - and I've desperately been searching for the best MW2 deal the past couple of days - even ordering two copies of Overlord 2 to try and get it cheap at GameStation.

Like I said, you can vote cold if you like - I'm not interested in getting props, I just want to spread the word.

I know this should probably go in Misc as I have no photographic proof, but if you can, please leave it in Deals for a little while so that as many people as possible can see it?

I Google'd 'Modern Warfare 2 Sainsburys £26' and there's a link to a thread posted here that's now been deleted - luckily Bargain Spy got hold of it before it was deleted. Here's what it said:

"I can finally confirm that Sainsbury's will be offering MW2 for £26. After looking on our stock tracker it is now showing as £26 with no stock in any store yet. I also don't know how long this deal is but im expecting it to be release day only! I cannot prove this with a picture but i have seen it with my own eyes. So its up to you to believe it or not!

I am a Sainsbury's employee and have worked there for over 3 years. Any other employees can check there RSS systems to back me up if they so wish."

That's four or five people who either work at Sainsburys or are close to someone who works at Sainsbury who have confirmed that it's £26.

Honestly, I'm not here to bullsh it - just tell folk about the best deal.

I will attempt to get some proof but as you can imagine its hard to do so while your supposed to be working.
