agreed my friend bought a preowned 360 and it had the maps installed on the old account it did add a bit of variation but 5.50 for 3 maps when the new game is around the corner seems stupid if it had all 6 i'd snap it up but for the 10 quid i could pick up mw 1 or cod wow and have 4 of the maps or zombie nazis plus a whole game to play the dlc i would have bought for full price would have been a spec ops add on but this hasnt materialized

not long till black ops! may go and have a look at these later considering the amount of time I spend playing this on-line its good value, heat added

This offer is also available for the PC Version on Steam.. http://store.steampowered.com/app/10180/

Before you all rush out and buy them; check the Steam forum comments, a lot of PC players who bought it regretted it as they say with the packs it is harder to find multiplayer games. At still at nearly £5.50 a pack, it is overpriced with Black Ops coming around the corner, save your £11 and use it towards that instead?

Since the XBL deal is only for gold members, this is actually a better deal than the Xbox one for a change.

I'm still not buying them on either format though although it may be worth it for when all of the idiots migrate to Black Ops in 6 weeks time. COD4 is actually better online these days than it has ever been. :)

map packs or any form or DLC are a curse on me tbh....it does not allow me to get rid of the game. I still have my copy of WAW solely because I spent 25 odd quid to get the map packs. I would have sold it on ages ago but to get around £10 for a game you have invested over £50 in does not sit well with me.

There are 5 maps per pack not 3.

Stimulus has: Overgrown and Crash from MW1 with new maps; Bailout, Storm and Salvage

Resurgence has: Strike and Vacant from MW1 with new maps; Trailer Park, Carnival and Fuel.

I agree it is perhaps a bit late and a clearly Activision's way of squeezing every last bean out of a fantastic game but well worth £5.50 each IMO.

Yeah, same here with GTAIV. I bought TLATD and now I'm stuck with it.

And I absolutely despise the online mode in GTAIV, so I can't even play that.

im surprised they haven't announced a game of the year edition. with the maps.
#13
They possibly can't do that because of the whole IW royalties thing which is still pending in court at the moment.
#14
Nice find Scar. I may have to get Resurgence to complete the pack! ... though need to try to get back into the swing of things (MW2 felt like someone fast forwarding the game compared to BCBC2!!!).
#15
cheers for that, was hoping they would follow microsoft. will pick 1 up tonight, prob won't get both though

It's going to work out les than £5.50 guys. Still potentially a rip off, but who here pays full price for their PSN points?

I was a COD4 everyday gamer until the game got hacked on PS3 and ppl were flying / under the ground, on the moon , on rooftop, etc. and then sold it! COD4 is indeed much more fun than MW2. Infinite grenades, martyrdom everytime u die, maps were also good. There are more maps I hate in MW2 than COD4.

Agreed, COD4 is better.

Yeh but its no point for a XBL Silver member to buy the packs as they wouldn't be able to play online anyway.

my bad ! i remembered it being 3 for some reason, maybe i just meant 3 new ones who knows ? lol

i just think dlc the majority of the time add things that should have been in the game from the outset it gives the developers a chance to be lazy and force a game out once a year that isnt fully ready just in time for christmas ,im not saying all dlc is a ripoff such as fallout dlc and the gta4 added a lot more to those games but having dlc for games that are online multiplayer means all your friends online have to have the dlc or you cant play together.

plus i smell a mw2 game of the year edition quite soon with the map packs

Black ops will be like the other call of duty, not like moderware1 and 2 is it made by different people or summat but just with the cod name, cod world at war was crap compared to mw1. mw2 made cod good again so now it the turn off the crap people i think. is this right? if anyone can understand what i'm sayin?

i've only played WaW im my friends house didnt think it was any worse maybe just as it was set in the past and having choppers etc ruined it bit like playing god of war 1 or 2 after playing 3 first and its treyarch making this one have a look on youtube of the previews it looks excellent but i think the 1st player mode has to be longer than 4 hours on normal(i played veteran on mw2 took about 7-hours after the enemy wasted me before they even seen me;))

id like long huge levels that werent broken up every 5 minutes to go to another mission and do something totally unrelated and then back to the previous characters story arch repeat for 4 hours then game over no replay abilty etc i seen on one of the black ops vid that you start high up and guide your team through russian mountains and pick where you will ambush them from if this is totally of the rails and you can pick wherever you start t opens up a few more possibilites for replaying the game
#24
No more Modern Warfare, until the legal rows are sorted I guess, don't think this team are still together either?
I might be tempted at this price?

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 were both done by Infinity Ward
Call of Duty Back Ops is being done by Treyarch.

In fairness I did not like Call of Duty 5 World at War much, but Black Ops does look quite good.

Cus Spec Ops was an epic fail. I'm glad They've learnt that and put Zombies (Dead Ops) back into Black Ops.
#28
im not your cus, lol i dont see how spec ops was a fail 2 player co-op was something that added a lot to make up for the lack of game time,

but the point i was making was that instead of adding more maps for multiplayer there should have been more spec ops added and maybe a way of finding people to play spec ops with that you dont know like in matchmaking instead of adding things on to a game that should have been there from the beginning, maybe rewarding loyal customers who owned mw1 with the maps they already paid for , ill not be sad to not have it but i would have made me think twice about buying dlc because most of the time they are usually released with the game 6 months later for the price of the dlc you are getting like the complete gta4 which is due out soon
#29
Heat added good price ... but .... far too late for me to get excited about it.
If it was a month or 2 a go then maybe but I'l just wait for Black Ops.
Getting my fix in with all the other games I've bought throughout the year that I've not played yet due to COD before Black Ops hits the stores because I doubt another game will get a look in for a while!
#30
It's also 1/2 price on the 360 @ 600MSP
#31
Still alot of money for a few maps but it would be nice to add some variation, sick of playing the same old ****.
#32
COD4 better than all the others even it barely had any DLC like these cash cows.
#33
are these maps available to offline splitscreen or are they online only, been stung on map packs before
#34
Question:

Guy's if you get one of the packs and you're playing multiplayer, does it randomly select between all the maps (new + old) or do you have to select which set of maps to play with?

Managed to order both sets. Bought a £20 PSN card for £17.85 from shopto.net first though.
