Good deal thanks. I have wanted this lens for ages but couldn't justify the £££. This bought it close enough for me to order
Great lens, love mine. Macro facility is a great little extra. Lens gets a slightly better review than the 25-105 as well.
Bargain. Heat added.
Hdew is grey import, won't qualify for cashback.

It'll work out £447.5 excluding quidco. Absolutely bargain, heated added!
Good price but Hdew don't seem to be on the cashback scheme so slightly cheaper with Calumet

Got it ordered and it was told it was back ordered due to high demand. I was happy to wait for a bit longer and now they have refund me the full price. very disappointed and probably just one of those gimmicky promotional tactic this company is using. Will need to think twice to order stuff from them from now.

Thanks for this! Was hoping there would be a black friday deal for this tripod!
Excellent price though op!
1.4kg is a bit heavy for a travel tripod surely?

I've used it in the last week to buy a Sigma 150-600m lens. They didn't have it in stock but I still received in within 6 days after they back ordered it from their suppliers
Yeah they have already called me to ask if I want the lenses I ordered sent separately from the camera or wait. Good service.

Changed the photo. Ones from the Calumet website didn't allow url or saving image. Never did mention that it was a mark ii. There also isn't a mark i, just the original G7 X, which I put in the heading.

Good deal for right now, how much does this normally have off in the cashback promos? depends whether your need is immediate. mine isn't so I'm waiting until it's back on the cashback and combine with any codes... jessops seem to normally have a 10% off lenses code around...
Amazing price. Pays for itself if you know what you're doing.
Sure opinions on whats a deal may vary but if like me you were waiting for the price of this to drop, it is a good price imho.
Just bought 10!!
I'm not sure my meaning of 'too good to miss' is the same as yours...

Good deal for the camera if that's what your ant but many better cameras available around this price depending on what you want it for (wouldn't touch it for video for eg)
"many better cameras for this price"? What cameras were you thinking of?
Depends what you want it for but resolution and picture quality, a7r, video, a6000 at a third of this price beats it easily or a gh4/gh3 will be miles better. Low light - a7s. All superior cameras
The problem is that you said there were many better cameras for the price but when pushed to name them, you listed several cameras. Now if you took the best feature from each of those cameras, i.e. picture quality, high iso/low light performance, video and price then you may get a camera which is miles better than the 6D but combining all those feature into one camera...... you would find it hard to beat the 6D at that price.
Umm.. Yes, and the 6d doesn't do all those things well either so I really can't see your point. I mentioned several cameras that are better at EVERYTHING than the 6d (now outdated and a few years old) and around the same price.
I'm not sure why you are being so defensive, I'm just trying to help the dentists spend their money more wisely:)
Now if you wanted something that could literally do everything you could save up and get an a7r ii.
Firstly, I'm not being defensive. I'm just correcting the errors you are posting. Lets deal with the latest one:- You said that several of the cameras you mentioned were better than the 6D at everything (and don't forget that includes the price). The A7R is more expensive, has poorer high ISO performance and doesn't focus as well in low light. A7S does have good low light performance but its fairly low res, average image quality, particularly with jpeg files and it costs 40% than a 6D. The A6000 is cheaper but is a crop sensor and has poorer image quality. The same for the Panny GH4. As for video, its not my thing, I never use it on my 6D so I can't comment on how good it is but the bottom line is that none of the cameras you mentioned are better than the 6D at everything.... not even close.
Mm.. Ok. A quick Google has turned up that I can buy an a7r for cheaper than this deal and has almost twice the resolution and much better quality photographs with higher dynamic range. A7s average image quality? Are you nuts? Lower res yes but it can shoot in candle light and has far more dynamic range. The a6000 imo takes similar quality photographs and is a third of the price.
An a7s is also only a couple of hundred pounds more than this deal.
All you have done is 'correct my errors' with misguided info that seems to be from an argos catalogue. Yes, it's a good camera, can you buy a camera better than this for whatever purpose you want it for? Yes. Ps ALL the cameras I mentioned beat this in video hands down.
As I said before, it depends what you want to use it for but you couldn't accept that open approach that cameras have different uses.
If I wanted to shoot in only low light at full frame with no video, inaccurate colour reproduction with low dynamic range and a huge camera body yes, I might consider this.
And your A7R for under £1039 is from a UK supplier and includes a 64gb SD card and Manfrotto bag? ........No, I thought not.
Your suggestion that the crop A6000 has similar image quality to the full frame 6D is incrediblly naive and devalues your position. Do you own a full frame camera? P.S. I'm not knocking Sony. They do produce the best sensors at the moment and my wife owns a RX100 which I'm happy to use if I don't have any of my cameras with me.

Well I think our opinions are both irrelevant now this topic is long dead. Lol.
I've used a mk3 and the 6d but I think you don't understand what I mean.
No, you aren't going to get a landscape picture as good a quality with an a6000 as a 6d but you'll get far better action pics.
I'm probably a bit salty as I was a big canon user and they are so far behind at the min.

I think I'd rather the Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 VC for less or wait see if the Sigma 24-70 f/2 OS materialises.
Great comments here! As a few have said already, this lens is not really for the casual photographer (unless you have lots of disposable money) but it is a fantastic piece of kit! Can't wait to get mine next week, it will be an upgrade to my 24-105 that has served me well but is a little slow. The IS is nice but that doesn't stop subject motion it just stops camera blur and I'm pretty steady handed as it is!
Some good detailed comments on here from people who know their stuff

This is my most used lens professionally. I could probably get by with JUST this lens most of the time, and I paid a fair bit more than this!
That's a stunning price and a stunning deal for one of the best zooms on the market. Especially for UK stock.

The issue here under the SOL is they took payment, thus contract was initiated.
I've had my refund.
Similar thing happened with Amazon a couple years back but they honoured it! Good old Amazon...
I replied to them said I wasn't happy blah, blah, blah and that they should honour those that ordered. Said I wouldn't buy from them again.

Thought it might be worth a try.

They said it was too low for them to honour and they are now hopefully processing my refund.

Would have been great to get it, but never mind...
The price is still displaying the same on the page (£434).

I'm assuming they're hoping people will pay the extra. Either way, it's a great way to get more newsletter subscribers.

Cold, it's not Canon....... (and before anyone protests, I voted hot because it's a good price from a reputable seller - would obviously want to check the shutter count though..... - it is technically 'used' )
But seriously, I'd much rather have a 5DS (£3K), and an extra £1000 for glass.

So, apart from its ISO range (no doubt useful if you want to take available light photographs of black cats in coal cellars at night), please point out what other areas the D4s so out-classes the 5Ds that you find yourself laughing hysterically, and more?

Cold, it's not Canon....... (and before anyone protests, I voted hot because it's a good price from a reputable seller - would obviously want to check the shutter count though..... - it is technically 'used' )
But seriously, I'd much rather have a 5DS (£3K), and an extra £1000 for glass.
PMSL 5Ds v D4s lol
Sorry i`m not playing nice , I use Nikon my partner use`s Canon so we exchange a fair bit of banter :-)

Funnily enough I nearly bought the Samyang last year, brilliant lens from what I've read, cheap too (~£250 on eBay).
I had the 8mm fisheye for a while, and that was brilliant. I'm keeping an eye out for when the 12mm comes under 200 or so second hand, and debating a Mitakon 85mm f2 or Samyang 85mm f1.4 to use with my speedbooster. So many lenses, so few pennies...

I feel your pain :)

The Fuji 10-24 is an epic lens too.
Yes. I just wish I had the pennies for it! I've been making do with a mitakon speed booster and a Samyang 14mm f2.8, but that is HUGE, heavy and has weird distortion, so I've sold the Samyang and want to pick up their 12mm f2, which is small, has very little distortion and might help me not try to buy the 10-24 for a while... the joys of GAS...

I'm rather surprised by the amount of people saying they need the lens in black. Must be new fangled technology where the colour helps you take a better picture?

I love my 50mm prime, for the price this is a great deal.
batman would look pretty stupid all in silver wouldn't he?
did you pick the colour of your clothes? your car?
ooh no not personal choice!

Bats are black, Batman is meant to be black, lenses on the other hand have always been silver or black so wouldn't look stupid in either way. Silver equipment can be a problem in product and fine art photography where reflections can cause issues, then black gaffer tape and velvet curtains come in handy.

I got a black sel50 off amazon a while back with this cashback deal. I used to think the black ones were all grey imports.
Sigma 60 is ~£125 and seems sharper on my e-pm2 than the 50sel on 16mp nex.
edit - the sigma 30mm was the best value e-mount lens with list of £99 and far more useful than this 50mm , best is it makes for a more compact package.

It's much sharper. Please take note this is a prime lens if you haven't got any. you have to move your body to compose.
The bokeh is awesome. You also can use lower ISO in the low light situation without needing a flash.
problem is that I need black one.
Torn between this one and 60mm Sigma.
The Sigma has no stabilization and a slower max aperture F2.8, for the measly £10 price difference you'd be mad to go for the Sigma. The Sony is very well made and sharp, the black colour is nicer but does it really matter? The silver looks fine on my Nex.

Its not about a price. Sigma is quite sharper apparently. Not much experience so not sure how important is stabilization.

And while price difference is £40(if going for black lens) 50 Sony vs 60 Sigma, its different story 30mm Sigma vs 35mm Sony.

stabilisation is for low light really, in good light you will have high enough shutter speed anyway hopefully

good deal, heat added

would be ideal if they had it cheaper without the lens.
it doesnt do the nex-7 much justice IMO.

You're right about the lens, I use the 50mm prime or the 16-70z on mine and the results are outstanding.

haha dont get me tempted!
