Anyone know if the process of transferring photos from the camera using SONY's horrible Studio software is just as slow with this camera as it is with the older Cyber-shots...With Canon camera, you plug in the USB and you have your pics in an instant, With SONY, the software has to load and you can't download videos unless you use Sony's buggy and cumbersome Software to transfer them.

playmemories is cack for sure
its been the supplied software for all my sonys over the past few years but with each you can plug them into the pc and just navigate to the folder
assume that its the same with this but dont have it to verify

This is quite good for a free program..allows you to easily import your photos

with a £300 Minolta 58 1.2 it can make fabulous pictures
buy some old rokkor lenses for it and a lens turbo and it's an incredible camera
even the a6000 which I have is a blistering camera. this one is excellent for video too. I have a friend shooting part of a channel 4 documentary on one now
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cj0McGTUgAAR2rV.jpg

I have this and the Meta Bones Speed Booster Ultra. I've shot documentaries and promos with it.
lens selection of e mount is terrible. avoid!! please compare lenses through http://www.lenstip.com/lenses_reviews.html

preferred to fuji xt20 over 6300.. i am quite happy with it.. this is absolutely a little beast.

I agree! I reviewed the 16-50 for YouTube recently as was pleasantly surprised

Have both and they give good results. Cheap Fuji glass better than Nikon in my experience.
If they're reading this... the black versions please ;)

The link is dead, must have sold out. Personally I think this was a great deal

For anyone who is still suspicious despite what has been said; I ordered on the day the deal was posted and the camera came this morning, all in order and legit. I look forward to getting out with it :D

I'm in the market for a new camera and overlooked this. Anyone know if this is a better all round amateur enthusiast 1st decent camera than the Sony a6000 or the Panasonic TZ100 that are in the same price bracket?
my use would be mainly days out, music festivals, gigs, landscapes and wildlife.
cheers for any advice
You can get great images from any of those cameras. Tz100 is the only truely pocketable, and so may get used more on days out.
Decide if you want the hassle/benefits/cost of interchangeable lenses.

It is UK stock so Jessops should price match if you would rather use them.
Would be very suprised if you got better service from Jessops. Jessops used to be very good, but they couldn't really be bothered when I visited them last.
You as well.....?
Yea they used to be very good. With CameraWorld the delivery was a bit slow but this was my fault as I picked a drop of service via PayPal which confused things. The guys at Camereworld were in contact with me all the time, traced the parcel and had it re-directed. Would recomend them other Jessops.

Cashback received today, loving the camera, brought 2 news lenses already.
How are people getting on with their cashback claims? I put mine in on the 31st and still nothing (I received the automated reply saying my claim has been received), yet I read that a few people who put theirs in before me had their money within a week.

I ordered a black one on 27 Nov. The company emailed last week saying Fuji cannot, as of yet, confirm how long it will be until we get the stock. I am not sure whether I can get it before Xmas. This experience really broadens my mind on online shopping.

It might pay to check with Fuji. This model is no longer showing on the Fuji store so may be discontinued now.

is this better or worse than the olympus m10 mk2?
Can't vouch for the Olympus but can recommend the Fuji - Photos taken are sharp and have good colours/contrast straight out of the camera. The user interface, EVF and controls are very good and the camera is a pleasure to use.

Lovely camera, I've had one for over a year now... staggered they're still so expensive tbh.

I'm toying with the idea of downsizing from my Canon 550d and this is one of the bodies that ticks a lot of the boxes. The obvious issue I have is the cost of the glass as I bought both the Tamron's 17-50 VC f2.8 and my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 used for about £550. I'm pretty happy with my setup but when I'm travelling, having a smaller, lighter one would be preferable. (I only take the Tamron and a cheap Canon 55-250 IS with me as the sigma is way too big!)

I recently picked up a A6300 and Sigma MC-11 EF to E Mount adapter (non Sigma A, C, S lenses only work with single shot and continuous focus on the A6300, no Sony Eye AF or Tracking), but the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 works great, unsure about the Tamron or function with the A6000 but there are plenty of reviews on YouTube etc.

Coming from a Canon 7D the A6300 seems a lot sharper and faster to focus, I believe this A6000 is still pretty good and would probably be a upgrade whilst being more portable, worth checking out for sure!

It's £1149 refurb direct from Fuji. OOS at present but if not in a hurry worth waiting (you can get them to email when in stock). Not sure if the PayPal code discount still works there for even better deal.
Code still works but only 7%, so works out at £1068.
Would recommend refurb direct from Fuji as they will have been carefully checked, they also have an excellent customer service dept.

With the Canon 5DMIV out in a months time expect some great used prices coming up.
If you hold off till 2018, you will get great deals on used Corsas when the new Focus comes out.
Just thought I'd say while we talk about irrelevant comparisons.

Wait? There’s a new Focus coming out in 2018??

To be fair though this is a mirrorless rangerfinder-style camera. I have the Xpro-1 and it's certainly not for everyone.

Price increases, deal expired.
I've heard a lots of good things about this camera and am seriously considering getting it. I found the camera body with 1 year warranty for £349.99 on SLR Hut (http://slrhut.co.uk/product/ID1631C68/google/idouk) which is quite a bit cheaper than this deal, but kinda makes me question whether SLR Hut is legit.. Anyone bought from there?
It's a shame the A6300 is so much more expensive..
SLR Hut are Grey Imports so you would not get a Sony UK Warranty or support from Sony, you would have to send the camera off to SLR Hut how would fix the camera themselves (or send it off for repair via there repairer). This deal is covered by Sony UK for 2 years.

not much of a saving atm, and as above has been cheaper many times
This seems to be the best price it has been for a while. It was slightly cheaper when the double cashback deals were running, but no £30 extended warranty included then. Waiting for the A6300 to come down in price but this still around the £1k mark.
also it often had lens when it was cheaper
tbh its 'good' atm as it seems to be generally the highest its been since price settled after release!
I guess you mean it seems to be the 'lowest' its been since release.http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/graphs/Sony_Alpha_A6000_Body_graph.png
dont give me the crappy charts, they dont show cashback - you yourself have posted the a6000+kit for cheaper than this price in the past
that set up wouldn't have shown on the body only graph anyway!
Best deal I've ever posted for this was £389 which included the cheap 16-50 lens. This was 6 months ago though and was dependent on Sony paying out the cashback. This is the best deal I have seen since and doesn't rely on having to claim cashback.

The returns policy isn't the greatest so I'm giving it a miss. Great price though.
Had an email from the regarding the returns policy. They say, "so long as it is returned in the same re-sellable condition as it was recieved, with all accessories then they'll do a full refund".
then why dont they say that on the site?
I think it might just to cover all kinds of products and not just this.
I use to work in a place (Dixons) where people would buy it, ise it for whatever reason, yry to return it for a refund and it was ruined...by them!!!
ah actually i rechecked ;)
they DO say what you said for internet orders and telephone but its instore (missed that bit) that is subject to a min of 10% restocking fee

hmmm the minimum 10% restocking fee and return delivery bit? never noticed that
no chance of trying out suitability (not that you should be mikey :p )
should be ok if not working though? and more so if use paypal?

haha! I've had so many refurbs with very hard to spot problems, you need a few days to mess around with it... The old Sony Outlet (and Canon eBay Outlet) used to give you a month and free returns. I wouldn't risk this tbh, Fuji are similarly tight with their returns. I probably ended up returning 50%+ of the gear I bought due to none-obvious issues.

You'd probably be okay with Paypal but life is just too short for messing about putting claims in and waiting for refunds.

... And, I really don't need any more cameras :P

voted hot. but as mentioned it's pretty useless without the head. I bought one for £27 and then instantly bought the head for £25 or so. no quick release without the head and would require precise positioning of the gorillapod which can be difficult. brilliant product once paired with the head.
If you have an expensive camera avoid these. The legs are prone to falling off.

good price but you'll probably want some sort of head for it
(jobys own is 25quid on amazon)
Don't need one. The thread on the top of the tripod fits straight on to your camera.
yeah i know that but that doesn't make it a good tripod :|

What's camera photo like on it? is it better than Nokia 1020?

Yes, it would be. The sensor size dwarfs that of the 1020.
Then again, the 1020 fits in your pocket and IMO better fits the concept of 'cameraphone'.
Also, the 1020 has a 4x lossless zoom. The Panasonic has no zoom.

it is very good price considering value of the case. heat added.
My one arrived today. The case is stunning and the camera/phone feels really nice.

what is the camera like compared to the s7?

https://youtu.be/OZik42Kn3Vw

I've never used either of the phones myself but the way these guys gush about this device it sounds leagues above anything else found on a smartphone if you're 'in to' photography and some of the shots in this video look very nice indeed... but I'm sure the S7 would be more than adequate for most.

Superb deal, very good lens (£247 on it's own). Voted hot!
wow thats really good, i pointed to a great deal for this at almost 400quid but was out of stock anyway!

instock and 50quid cheaper.... not bad ;)

(edit - the bag in that accessory set is too big for this lens so lots of empty space at front, obviously if getting a different lens usability will vary - seems to be for 14-42 kit)

Yup, ordered one. There's an offer through email of £10 for the case too once you've placed the order.

sorry for the late reply but this has an aperture control around the barrel of the lens as well as a conventional shutter speed dial at the top as opposed to finicky menu based manual controls. So no I'm not saying other cameras are easier or more difficult to use than this one. I'm saying, (referring you to my initial comment)...it's a nice camera with GOOD manual controls.....find a box and climb back into it
ahem , quite a large picture james :p
nice quality though
Very nice beginner manual camera <3

This camera is available for 357.99 new from another place just goole it. And on ebay there are lots below 400. What kind of a crazy deal is this??????
The galling thing is that was £50 cheaper six months ago (with a better guarantee). Does seem to be the cheapest non-grey import at the moment though.

nice camera. offers good manual control but just as easy to use as a point and shoot. nice find
What an idiotic comment. Just like any camera with manual controls it has auto mode and manual mode. So what is your point that this camera is easy to use? Is any camera with auto mode less easy to use?
not content with one idiotic comment you had to come back and finish the job eh?
