I bought some of these camping mats the other day, just for a festival. They are well worth £1 although I will be doubling them up!

Camping Mats: These are the most uncomfortable things to lie on! You’d be better getting an inflatable air bed/lilo if you intend using these for lying on. I went camping in Italy a few years ago and bought a camping mat with me, didn’t get one good nights sleep while I was there. Suppose this is not a bad deal otherwise, especially if you intend only using these the one time though you might be better investing in something better all the same.

I might have to find a poundland, the mats sound ideal for bike touring/backpacking. Cheap&Thin=Lightweight.

I have a nice inflatable camping mat which also doubles up for twice the padding, but its useless for bike touring as its too big and if it punctures you might as well be lying on the ground!! Punctures on those things can be difficult to fix. These mats insulate you from the ground on cold nights, its not supposed to feel like your at home in bed. Hot!
